This unit has surprisingly excellent sound quality, component RGB outputs, optical and coaxial digital audio outputs, and plays MP3 cds. With discounts and rebates, this was very inexpensive.

Although I could list things this didn't have, for the price it is much more than I'd expect. Yes, the power can't be switched on/off from the remote, but if that's a real problem for you, take the money you saved and buy a Clapper.

Small problem, Good sound

I got good response from the ASTAR people.

It sounds great for the price and the controls are easy enough for my elderly mother to use

When I first hooked it up it sounded great but after only a few mins. the power went off with my important CD in it. Rather than send it back I opened it up and fixed the problem by re-plugging the power switch. Works fine now

ASTAR MCS-2200

If you need a cheap bookshelf stereo that you won't use much, you can't beat 20 bucks... If you need something that you will use alot, I'd look elsewhere for something more reliable.

Small size, plays DVD's, CD's, etc. Only cost 20.00 after rebates.

We bought 2 of these, one works fine, the other has issues (it's used very infrequently). EQ shows no activity on the lower 2 frequencies, and we get no bass on this unit. CD/DVD player motor died after 7 months of light use. Going to try to return...

Nice little system

Perfect system for the kitchen, garage, basement or a kids room. The sound is better than I thought it would be. Plays movies fine. I mean its a $60 system. Good value for the money.

Small and compact. Can play DVD's, digital tuner. 2 aux inputs. Uses standard speaker wire so you can make longer connections if you need to

Don't buy this if you are looking for a stereo for your living room

ASTAR MCS-2200

It came free with my Hyundai tv and makes a nice addition to my setup. I am very pleases it so far other then the whole remote thing. As always it was shipped fast and i was always able to check where it was.

This is a great dvd player/stereo. Plays pretty much all my dvds with no problems. My tv doesn't have the head phone port, so it's really nice being able to watch dvds with head phones so i don't wake everyone.Also it's kind of handy having the aux...

Like many others said, you can not shut it off from the remote.I can't find to many compatible remotes for it either. Also an equalizer would be extremely nice.
