Don't Buy

 

Recent "update" seems to have helped network speed. But now it just hung when I tried to turn it off. Even leaving the power unplugged all night didn't help (just returned to the power-on, hung state when I plugged it back in). Shouuldn't have bought...

Plays discs. OK, even played most home-made BD-R and AVCHDs

Network VERY bad. Couldn't go for a minute or two on NetFlix or YouTube before it hung. Had to use the XBox or even the Wii (yes I was that desperate) to stream video. This on wireless and wired network as well ; Oh and the remote is VERY uncomfortable...

The only reason I did not give it 5 eggs is because I haven't hooked it up to the web yet.

As advertised, this player plays just about any DVD disc and file

Might just need a software update, but there hasn't been one available since we bought it half a year or so ago (at least according to the player).

Seems to play most all my DVD and Blu-Ray collection

Poor network subsystem. NetFlix and YouTube hang often, on wired or wireless. CPUs, XBox, and even Wii give better performance (and with regards to the Wii, that's saying a lot!) ; Often hangs on shutdown ; We end up using the XBox for any streaming,...
