Pioneer BDP-140 and Elite BDP-52FD and BDP-53FD Blu-ray Players Preview

All players support the requisite (but hardly-used) 3D and come with HDMI 1.4a outputs. As you'd expect, all the new players can upconvert video to 1080p via HDMI and 36-Bit Deep Color is supported for compatible displays.

Pioneer's entry-level 3D Blu-ray player isn't exactly feature-packed, but it has a pleasant design, good file format compatibility and also plays SACDs.

This player shows a great picture both in 2d and 3D. With it's symmetrical design player looks great in AV rack, especially if you own pioneer reciever.

Excellent image quality, adjustable picture, design

Slow & problematic

Menus hang up / lock up, can't access menus while playing, VERY difficult to use. Had to call 3x support just to get the resume working & NOT shut down with HDMI. This was one of the worst DVD/Bluerays I have even owned. ABT is WONDERFUL though, they...
