Sony DVP-NS725P

Superior disc compatibility; very solid anamorphic downconversion; multiple picture modes; optical and coaxial digital-audio outputs.

Substandard progressive-scan video; no photo-disc support.

Lackluster progressive-scan video hobbles this otherwise decent player.

This is what it is all about

Multiple format reading, incredible flexibility, multiple outputs, nice design, built Sony tuff.

It does not toast bread, and it does not grill steak.Plays DVD's well.

Excellent player for price

I had a Toshiba SD-4900, and it looked good on my RCA 52" HDTV, most movies did. However, all that changed when I popped in Star Wars Episode II. Was that ever a horrible experience (and YES, I have good component cables and running progressive scan, ...

It's all about that 12Bit/108MHz DAC baby. Sound is awesome also.

None so far...will update if need be.
