JVC's HD Everio GZ-E205 packs decent image quality into a budget body.

Decent image quality ; Keen price ; 40x optical zoom

Limited manual features ; Most settings only available in full menu

The small sensor does have one benefit, though. For optical reasons too complicated to explain here, a smaller sensor makes a larger optical zoom possile in a smaller space. In the E205's case, despite the camcorder being one of the smallest...

This camcorder is very user friendly. You can also take photos while recording. Very light and compact and the image and sound quality are great.

The battery lasts about an hour if you use the camcorder on HD only, but you can buy

excellent camcorder

I was amazed with the development of this camcorder, very easy to use , battery life excelent compact ,and light, 1 hand operation, and great value. super piece of engineering
