Kodak PixPro SP1

The Kodak PixPro SP1 is one of the best action cameras in its price range, and it doesn't need a waterproof case.

Good video quality. Inexpensive. Built-in display. Doesn't need a waterproof case.

Heavy. Relatively low 30fps limit at 1080p. Buggy Android app.

Conclusions Kodak's PixPro SP1 shouldn't add enough weight to boards or bikes to make a significant difference, but you'll notice it if you wear it on your head or helmet. Video quality isn't up to GoPro Hero3 Black Edition standards, but it's a...

Kodak Pixpro SP1 Action Camera Review: A Great Deal

Buy the Kodak PixPro SP1 without hesitation if you want an affordable action camera that delivers quality HD video in a waterproof design.

Solid video and photo quality ; Low price ; Waterproof design, with dedicated underwater lens ; LCD screen for menu navigation and shot composing ; Easy wireless control

Heavy, boxy design ; Video limited to 1080p/30 fps

If you don't want to spend a fortune for the best gear, the Pixpro SP1 strikes the perfect balance, of quality, usability and price.

Great for hockey..

I mount this on the glass behind the goalie. With it's 160 degree angle of view it captures a lot of the ice. It is fixed focus, records until the battery dies or the flash drive fills up. Tripod mount, Great camera

Kodak PixPro Sp1

Love it...

I own the JVC Action Cam and Sony - this is my third. In comparision, battery life is 30% more than the other 2, video quality same (JVC will do 60 fps at 1080) I use them to record softball games mounting them behind backstop. The Kodak w/ Explorer...

Heavy.. this is a solid heavy action cam. at least twice maybe three times as heavy as the Sony, twice as JVC. Does take micro SD, JVC takes SD - much more convenient. Does max out at 32gb - I hope with a firmware update they can bump that to 64GB....

Great Little camera

If you don't want to spend the money on a Go Pro, you should give this a try. Plus it's already waterproof where you need to buy the Go Pro waterproof case.

Great little Action Camera for the price ($200 with accessories). I like the LCD screen when mounting to get it aligned. The App also works well for this and was pretty easy to setup on my phone. It's nice that this comes with some mounts. The camera...

Can't really think of any right now. This is my first Action Camera and thought it was a better value than Go Pro. This has been a pretty good purchase. I'll need to use it more to see if I can find any flaws. Oh, I would like to see more mounting...

Feature, price and quality is all there

I debated if i should go with a gopro for the longest time, but I figure for $165 i give the PIXPRO a try. If anything i can resale for $[$], but so far I am happy with this camera.

Tiny camera as a palm of small heand

I bought this camera by mistake of not checking the size of it. I want it to have something small with wide view to record soccer games. It so small and there is no distance changing option and viewer is on the side of the camera. I opened the box with...

The best action cam for its price.

I'm so satisfied with this cam. The video is better than I expected considering its price. A little noisy in low light plus it only has 30fps at 1080p. But I don't need the 60fps anyway. I dropped it a while ago (just 4 feet high), and as expected no...
