Panasonic SDR-S100 review

The SDR- S100 is easy to use but underpowered for the price.

Panasonic SDRS100

Apart from JVC, most manufacturers are backing recordable DVD as the next step for consumer video cameras. But Panasonic is taking another tack. Instead of the miniature hard disks used in JVC's Everios, the SDRS100 records to SD memory, with a...

The SDRS100 performs impeccably when shooting video or stills, it's minuscule, and it looks exceptional. But then there's the price - Panasonic's own high-end NVGS400B three-CCD DV model costs less. If you're after a petite digital-imaging convergence...

Image quality

Panasonic SDR-S100

Extremely compact; three-chip color quality; attractive, thoughtful design.

Some may find grip uncomfortable for extended shooting; subpar optical image stabilization; poor low-light performance; no external microphone or video light support; not Mac-friendly.

The smallest three-chip camcorder yet, the MPEG-2-recording Panasonic SDR-S100 is at the forefront of solid-state consumer video camera technology, but that doesn't mean its video quality is above average.

Panasonic SDR-S100 SD Camcorder

This three-CCD camcorder has an innovative feature set and a great look, but it's too expensive.

Quite small and portable. Design is good for left-handers and right-handers. SD cards make file transfers easy. Image stabilization.

Very expensive. Low-light video quality should be better. Color was a bit oversaturated

Panasonic takes a step into the world of tape-less video recording with their SDR-S100. They have also followed the trend of ever-shrinking technology, cramming a boatload of features into a tiny, matchbook-style body. It captures video and stills to...

Panasonic SDR-S100 Camcorder Review

Hail the new pint-sized player in town, the Panasonic SDR-S100. Recording MPEG2 video to a 2GB SD card (included), this little puppy promises to pack a wallop. Not only does it claim the title of first 3 CCD SD cam, but with a totally redesigned...

Panasonic SDR-S100

Weighing a mere 8.5 ounces, the SDR-S100 is the smallest 3CCD digital camcorder in the world. It features an image stabilizer, 10X optical zoom, and Leica Dicomar, and has the power to provide high-quality video recordings in the palm of your hand.

Camcorder Review: Panasonic SDR-S100 3CCD SD Card

What happens when you make a 3CCD camcorder that is about the size of your fist and records onto SD memory cards? Panasonic's SDR-S100 has that and more with just the right amount of style to make any gadget freak salivate

Good image quality Small and lightweight Some manual controls

Non-expandable battery design Awkward handling Poor range with onboard mic

Gadget freaks and celebrities agree, this camcorder is easy to use, small and stylish.
