Sony DCR-TRV310

Lots of good features, small and lightweight unit.

Not the latest technology. Long lasting battery optional.

Crisp and EZ - like a frozen pizza!

I've owned the TRV310 for over a year now and find it to be a great camcorder. The film quality is still breathtaking -- better than normal TV in my opinion.

EZ to use - crisp pictures!

A bit bulky (especially with optional longer-life battery).

A very good camcorder!

I received this camcorder as a gift for Christmas 1999. It was easy to use right out of the box, that is, after the battery was charged. The battery that comes with the camcorder does not last more than an hour, so my batter life rating is based on...

Large 3.5" LCD, great quality, great zoom, SteadyShot and NightShot, IR Receiver compatible, digital stills.

Kind of bulky, slow rewind, B/W viewfinder.

A lot of camcorder for less cash

When writing reviews on camcorders, I'm working under the assumption that most people who are shopping for camcorders are planning on using them mostly for family purposes. Vacations, new births and weddings etc. I'm also assuming they're looking for...

Relatively inexpensive, Infolithium battery, PC connectivity, lots of features.

Problems with color accuracy when used indoors.

The 310 from SONY... Great value for home movies!

There are many Epinions about this unit that describe all the features, all the capabilities, in great detail. You don't need those items recapped once again. I'd like instead to give you some practical and useful real-world application notes on...

Exceptional quality and capability, with understanding of limitations.

For a compact camcorder, none really.

Solid choice for computer videomakers on a budget

Jan 2005 Update The review below was written by me almost 5 years ago and it probably is obsolete and useless at present time, since the only place to find this camcorder is on eBay, used or damaged. I am however writing this update, for those ...

Lives up to it's "Handycam" name

My wife and I purchased this camera because we were trying to have a baby and wanted to be ready for the arrival. We purchased it at Best Buy while it was on sale for $999 and while we had a 10% off coupon. We managed to get the camera for...

D8 DCR-TRV310 is Sony's Best Yet!

I bought my Sony DCR-TRV310 Digital Handycam from Sears about four months ago, and I was AMAZED at what that small camcorder had with it! EVERYTHING! I had been wanting a compact, high-quality camcorder (preferably digital) for a while and when my...
