Sony Handycam HDR-CX230

The Sony HDR-CX230 has an impressive zoom range and price tag, but its video quality is not the best.

8GB internal memory. 1080p60 video. 27x f/1.9-4 zoom lens.

No touch screen. Very limited physical controls. Manual lens cover. No Wi-Fi. No mic input. No shoe adapter.

Video Quality and Conclusions The CX230 records HD video in a variety of bitrates and formats. The top setting is AVCHD at 1080p60 quality, and while that's great on paper, the actual footage captured by the CX230 has some issues. At its widest angle...

Nice Camera

Great picture, compact size, lightweight, 8GB on board, also takes SD cards or Sony Memory Sticks, built in USB cable. Good low light performance. Shoots 1080p60.

Can't recharge while shooting video, LCD panel has to be open while shooting video. No Record Light, only displays STBY or REC on LCD panel

USB charge only, no wall charger or ac adapter!

I bought the camera because I wanted HD and windows 8 compatible. I have a wall charger for my sony DCR SX63, but it doesn't work with this camera. It has a usb on the strap, and will charge on my computer, but I need a wall charger! Sports events etc....
