Toshiba Camileo X100 review

A smart black and silver model with a 3in flip-out LCD that can be rotated through 270 degrees, the Toshiba Camileo X100 has a smooth zoom that effortlessly sidles up to the action with little jerkiness. It then focuses in on whatever you throw at it....

An attractive and capable camcorder for everyday use, we liked the turn it on and start shooting idea behind the Camileo X100, plus the ability to take still shots while continuing to shoot video. It's not the most robust camcorder we've tried however.

Toshiba Camileo X100 review

The Camileo X100 stands apart from the majority of solid-state HD cameras. With its 3in touchscreen and 10x zoom lens, it's a step up from basic HD cameras such as the Flip UltraHD. However, it's considerably less expensive than AVCHD cameras from...

The X100 looks great value on paper but the quality of video clips fails to impress

Toshiba X100 camcorder review

Solid all-round performance and a feast of features make this one of the better entry-level HD camcorders

Lightweight, simple to use, good image quality, built-in storage

Does 1080p really make any difference? A bit plasticky

Toshiba Camileo X100 Flash Memory Camcorder

Camcorders today are moving away from the complex, mechanical, tape-based systems of the past. With improvements in video technology, such as HDTV, and online

Review: Toshiba Camileo X100 HD camcorder

Toshiba's Camileo X100 is a Full HD camcorder that can either record in 1080p (30fps) or 1080i (60fps) and take high resolution still images. The camcorder has a street price of $300, making it a reasonably priced, consumer-focused offering. It lacks...

Review: Toshiba Camileo X100

Toshiba brings 1080p and optical zoom to a very low price.

1080p and 10X zoom for $400 ; Simple interface ; 4GB of storage built-in with SDHC slot ; Slow motion and time lapse options ; Good audio quality

Mediocre image quality ; AVI container limits a cross-platform standard ; Small range of image adjustment options ; Slightly disjointed union of touch and physical controls

Design and interfaceCamcorder design has in many ways been massaged into oblivion: it's hard to design a barrel-shaped camera that breaks from the template. The X100 will feel very much familiar to anyone who's used a typical digital camcorder,

Toshiba is not good at Camcorders!

The picture looks really good when it conditions are right.

Had issues with it right out of the box. It finally got where it was not useable after 2 years of owning it but only using it half a dozen times. I contacted Toshiba but they were no help.

I Love newegg!

Cheap. Even cheaper now.

It doesn't record while being plugged in the wall charger & It doesn't charge in the USB ports I plug it into. I've tried a variety of different sources. Computer, car, powerpack, wall converter, & cigarette lighter converter.

Decent Camera

Great picture (see cons), easy to use and set up easy file transfer to pc for editing. For the price, it works.

When using HD mode and holding the camera in your hand, the image is shaky and horrible. If mounted to tripod it improves. Also, the autofocus when zoomed in leaves something to be desired.

Good camcorder w/ a very weak PX1657 battery.

This is a nice camcorder. Very simple to use. No bells and whistles here. It gets the job done.

The battery will last an hour at most. You must shop for the PX1657 battery ASAP. The SDHC card (32GB Max) is also a must.
