Toshiba gigashot GSC-R60

Despite some design foibles and troubled TV connectivity, the GSC-R60 is a good value hard-disk camcorder.

60GB camcorder for the price of a 30GB. Controls fall easily to hand. Decent video quality for a single CCD camera.

Problems with TV connectivity. Cradle required for USB. Wide-screen is actually a crop.

Despite some design foibles, and troubled TV connectivity, the GSC-R60 is a good value hard-disk camcorder.

Hard drive video camera Toshiba isn't a name you normally associate with digital camcorders but the company has jumped into the market with a pair of hard-drive based models that aim to take a slice of the burgeoning non-tape market

Toshiba offers the 30GB GSC-R30 ($1249) and 60GB GSC-R60 ($1599). Apart from the obvious difference in hard drive capacity, the R60 also comes bundled with a docking station for charging the battery and transferring images and video to the PC via USB...

The camera is really easy to use and the menus are fantastic. The battery life is really good and lasts a very long time.

Long battery life, easy to use and overall a great camera

Playing back through our TV direct from the camera caused the picture to be Jittery and even burning to DVD caused problems too
