Solid Business PC

I can't vouch for the state of the OS and bloatware that comes pre-installed. First thing I do when I get these things out of the box is image the hard drive with a clean build. Expect bloatware and/or a format c:

Solid hardware despite bargain price. I've bought over 50 of these low end Compaq/HP 500B or 505B models and haven't had a single one with bad hardware. Decent performance for basic business tasks

Set your expectations realistically and there really aren't any

Inadequate PSU?

Both this and the 500B advertise a 300W PSU, but the labels state 268W max. On the 500B I had no problems when adding a discrete video card. The 505B may need more power than this. The way the mobo is installed, a discrete video card is "upside down"...

Excellent value if used without modifications. Great for business use

Did not do as well as the 500B versions which I have had great luck with in the past. Problem after adding discrete video card: After power down it needed a few minutes rest before it would power back up. Installed a higher rated power supply and...

Nice basic machine

remove junk software just because it's junk

Great basic machine on a budget. Purchaced for a friend who needed to replace an antique. They are thrilled. they use it for internet and office. I like the 32 bit op sys it will work with all their older hardware

Great Laptop

My grandson loves it. He said it is fast’s and works well Great price. Went right on my network with ease I just had to figure out windows 7 on the fly. I'm just too use to XP

what i first noticed

what i first noticed about this computer was the great design. i like that it has a great looking and slick design. i have a desk that has a little place to put the tower and because it looks good i put it on the top of the desk so everyone can see it....
