If you can spend extra money to get Windows XP on your new system because Vista still has a long way to go before it is up to XP's standards.

For what it has in the computer it is perfect, large hard drive , loads fast when turned on, wish they didn't have all the trial software on the computer that no one will use at least I won't so i deleted it ; Computer stopped accessing the internet in...

Window Vista is the worst operating system that Windows came out with, it still after all this time does not play nicely with other programs and hardware ; If are using Itunes, Vista does not work well with AppleTV/Ipod video, what this means is forget...

My new home computer

Ordered a cheap Sapphire ATI video card with this system. XP installs without special SATA drivers. You'll need special gigabit LAN drivers for XP. Search for Acer 1610 and you'll find them quick. I had them on a jump drive from re-installing another...

30 cheaper than the U-xxx model with the same specs. Very quiet. Has memory card reader, gigabit lan, and HD and DVD are SATA. I think it tried to install Vista in either French or English when I first booted. But I quickly rebooted with the XP install...

2 SATA ports on the Motherboard. 2 pci, 1 pci-x x1, 1 pci-x x16. Seems a little limited ; I used Vista on my work computer for 4 months before going back to XP Media Center. The only thing I liked was the Task Manager... and the Royale Noir theme on...

Merry Christmas .. to me

Since receiving this as a Christmas present --- I didn't necessarily need to, but … I've upgraded to 4GB of Transcend memory (Vista 32 only sees 3.07GB - I understand that 64 will see all 4 - I may or may not do that), added an XFX GeForce 8600GT 512MB...

Without doing anything to this computer (under $500) it's a screamin' deal. Shop around, you'll see

Acer support is less than helpful when it comes to information regarding how to upgrade the computers they sell, but reading a lot of Newegg reviews helped to answer most of my questions (you all are some pretty smart people). Acer also bills this...

Good system

The USB-powered speakers were pretty cool. It shipped pretty fast across the country. Memory card reader is a nice feature to have. The integrated video will disable when a video card is installed.

HD and DVD are SATA. HD is partitioned as 144gb/144gb/10gb. Benchmarked on Performance Test just a shade below my Core 2 Duo E6400. Great speed and performance for the price! Onboard gigabit! and firewire

Vista. XP installed without special SATA drivers... ...wait.. that's a plus! XP needed drivers for the onboard gigabit. Added a cheap sapphire video card for a DVI port. Only has 2 SATA ports, but that doesn't really matter for what it's being used for

Very good for the price

After buying this pc, I immediately went and bought 2GB of RAM and a Nvidia 8400GS graphics card. After installing those, performance has shot up! The pc is a joy to use, relatively fast, runs vista very well, and is extremely quiet. The temp after an...

Very nice computer. Rather good for the money

Just giving you guys a heads up if you play World of Warcraft. The video card is not supported by the game and you won't be able to play it unless you buy a different card
