Acer Veriton VN281G-UA425W

The Acer Veriton VN281G-UA425W is a compact, quiet nettop for business users. Though it's inexpensive, its processor is painfully slow for anything but the most basic of tasks.

Inexpensive. Compact. Quiet. Built-in 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi.

Slow processor. Videos and Web surfing are jerky. No HDMI, DisplayPort, or DVI.

Small and compact fits neatly on the back of the monitor. Setting up was easy and installed Microsoft office 2010. This unit will be used in a dusty environment. Great value!

Would be good to have recovery disks supplied on CD or stick.

Compact. On-board wifi Value

Default windows install is 64 bit which is crazy for such a low powered box. To get 32 bit you have to re-install. There should be an option during setup.

Small form fitted on the back of my existing monitor. Ideal as a home computer where e-mails, internet, and social media is the main use but where video and photography is also needed at a non-professional level.

Windows 7 really needs more RAM, and although the Veriton is upgradeable i would have thought the additional RAM could have been included

Tidy unit, lots of usb ports, easy to set up and tucks neatly out of the way

Dont know if this is a bad point or not, but it came with a wired full size keyboard where as the home Nettop I bought came with a dinky compact wireless keyboard. As its so small its fiddly to switch on, you dont so much press the button you have to...
