Apple iMac (4th gen)

It's skinny, hewn from aluminium and looks like a desktop iPhone. But does the latest iMac offer more than meets the eye?

Stunning design. Packed with power

Limited upgradability. No TV tuner

Apple iMac (4th Gen.) review

The 24-inch iMac's striking design and impressive performance compare favorably to its smaller 20-inch sibling. In addition to a larger screen size, the 24-inch model offers higher-end configuration options and, of course, a higher price tag. The...

Industry-leading design; big, beautiful display; excellent application performance.

Higher-end model features same midrange graphics card of lower-end models; free phone support ends after 90 days; might want to hold off another month until Leopard is released to save yourself the cost of an OS upgrade.

With the same elegant design as its 20-inch, 2.4GHz sibling, the 24-inch, 2.8GHz iMac offers 30 percent more screen area and a modest performance boost. The iMac competes with the PC desktop market now better than perhaps any previous Mac to date, but...

I-mmaculate

Well first of all I will start by saying that I have had my PC for 7 years running with Windows. The PC itself is good, however Windows, well thats not. I have had problem after problem and although I have had it for a while I have somehow survived...

Best, faster and better than any PC

It is so fast and smooth, never crashes. The software is amazing.

The IMac is amazing!

I'm probably going to buy another one, for my wife. -I wish they would come out with a 30" or bigger screen, so I could replace my TV. -If you absolutely need to have Windows, you can install windows on the Imac as well as OSX, which has proven to be...

It's the coolest computer I've ever owned, and I've always been a PC user. I switched because of work (motion graphics designer) and have been completely satisfied with my purchase ; Jubliant is another word I would use. There are so many cool features...

The recent price drop means I could have purchased two for the price of my Imac plus all the upgrades

Improvement over Windows

I'm about to upgrade to 4GB of RAM because the 1GB just doesn't quite do it for me. I'm also buying the Elgato TV tuner hybrid so I can watch TV on my Mac. Finally, I use the Logitech z-2300 2.1 sound system with this computer to listen to my tunes....

High quality computer with a high quality operating system. The aluminum case makes this computer look awesome. Works out of the box and won't get slow over time like Windows. I went from Windows to Mac and I'll never go back

This isn't really a con, but Airbornedivo said that the remote wouldn't stick to the computer. This is because Apple took out that feature on the Aluminum models. Just thought I'd clear this up

Better than Windows

I love Apple computers, but I am alos a gamer and I must say ATI SUCKS! I would have liked an nVidia in this machine, but I am just using OS X on this. In my 7 years of using Windows, I must say, this is better than Windows. Windows is horrid. I...

Its really good but...

Buy this. It is a workhorse

The computer itself is awesome. I love the screen, its breath taking. The computer runs quietly and cool (I manually control fans with software), the computer is fast and it is perfect for anyone not just "everyday" users

THE KEYBOARD> EWWWWWWW. I hate the keyboard. It is atrocious. I immediately went out and bought a Saitek Eclipse II and threw the keyboard in storage. Also, Apple tech support stinks

Very Nice

I think I'll always be a PC guy but I would be very tempted to buy one of these, especially if I could run bootcamp on it.

I don't actually own one of these but I use it at work all day so I thought I would share my opinion. As someone who generally doesn't like apple products, I think this computer is outstanding. Its silent, never freezes, never gets bogged down if you...

When using google maps, the mouse wheel doesn't work so great for zooming in/out (compared to pc mouse scroll wheels). But in general the wheel is very smooth and quiet. When clicking the mouse, you really have to have your fingers separated or it will...
