Apple iMac (4th Gen.) review

The 24-inch iMac's striking design and impressive performance compare favorably to its smaller 20-inch sibling. In addition to a larger screen size, the 24-inch model offers higher-end configuration options and, of course, a higher price tag. The...

Industry-leading design; big, beautiful display; excellent application performance.

Higher-end model features same midrange graphics card of lower-end models; free phone support ends after 90 days; might want to hold off another month until Leopard is released to save yourself the cost of an OS upgrade.

With the same elegant design as its 20-inch, 2.4GHz sibling, the 24-inch, 2.8GHz iMac offers 30 percent more screen area and a modest performance boost. The iMac competes with the PC desktop market now better than perhaps any previous Mac to date, but...

Apple iMac (4th gen)

It's skinny, hewn from aluminium and looks like a desktop iPhone. But does the latest iMac offer more than meets the eye?

Stunning design. Packed with power

Limited upgradability. No TV tuner

Apple iMac 20" 2.4GHz 1GB 250GB Mac OS X 10.5

For a computer user like me (basic level but like to use the internet a lot, talk on Skype, load photos and use email, etc) the operating system is so much better than the PC I had with windows software. The updating takes less than a minute, perhaps...

It's not a bad point, exactly. It would be nice if the keyboard and optical mouse were the wireless type as standard. Both work really well and look good but it would be even better without wires. Can't fault it on anything else.

Great minimalistic design for space saving

LCD screen is not the same as the 24inch version. You have to sit directly infront of it to get an accurate idea of colour, very much like a laptop. Wasn,t expecting this.

These are so easy to use and have the best software out of the box to manage all your photo's, home video, internet, email, etc. It just works! Beautifully designed and engineered.

They are not the cheapest on the market but it's well worth the money if you can afford it.

Apple iMac 20" 2.4GHz 1GB 250GB Mac OS X 10.5

Very easy to get up and running, connected to the internet first time no problems. The screen is fantastic - bright, crystal clear. Comes with the vast majority of the software you need to get started. Overall cracking purchase, not such a difficult...

No decent Office-style software by default.
