Consumer review (newegg.com)

its okay at best

get something with sata!

Not a terrible price, quality case material

Its been about a year and the USB ports are almost dead. Wireless HID devices and card readers will work, but anything requiring a good amount of power wont like external hdd's, or a ipod/zune/phone will NOT. I kept getting delayed write failure erros,...

Here is how to update the BIOS

To update the bios first download the latest bios for the ASUS M2V890 barebones from Asus's website. Next: Google Asus Update Utility - Download/Install this. I downloaded from MajorGeeks.com. After the Asus update utility is installed run it. Select...

Stable ; Inexpensive ; Decent Drive Support

Lack of documentation on how to correctly update the BIOS

Decent for the price

A good build if your not looking for a powerhouse.Easy to work on and ASUS quality.Going strong for 5 months and counting with a Rosewill power supply.

Solidly built,small size.Good expandability

A little cramped inside, but no sharp edges to cut you.Could use an easier way to update the bios.Lousy power supply, underpowered

dont buy it

I am a professional computer tech and have overall understanding of computers, but let me tell you this, this is the first time i got stumped! dont buy this barebone unless you check to see from asus what cpu's work.

cheaper than most. quicker because its already assembled

do not use the AMD 64 LE-1600 cpu, it will not take it! i tried 5 hrs of bios searching to get it to update or flash. finally after all of that i came to the conclusion this cpu is not capable of working right unless you wish to press F1 to continue...

Updated Review - Don't buy it!

I strongly recommend that you do not buy this. It's very cheap, and seems like a good bang for the buck, but it truly is not. The motherboard and power supply make this barebones a terrible buy.

Nice looking case, relatively well put together. Onboard video is of reasonable quality

The Motherboard failed after 6 months. The PCI-E slot never worked properly, preventing the use of a video card. The power supply had to be replaced, won't work if you use a video card, or most common hardware, which require a higher wattage

Good Cheap Barebone

You should probably flash the BIOS and get a new power supply. With that being said, mine is running fine on the stock PSU with 5000+ Black, 150 GB SATA HD, Optitec DVD-RW, NVidia GeForce 6300GS, 2 X 1GB Kingston RAM.

Very cheap (about half the price of getting a motherboard, PSU, and case separately AR), works after some fiddling. IDE & SATA inputs. Small footprint. Works

Had to flash the BIOS to get it to recognize my 5000+ Black Edition (still worked, but had to press F1 to boot every time). Power supply is a bit low powered. A bit cramped inside the case

Seems Great

Great little machine. If you buy you need to go here and download manual

No case fans. Nothing is said in the writeup about needing case fans

For advanced users only!

It's nice if you know how to flash the BIOS using other utilities and have the time to drudge through the ASUS website to find the updated BIOS and instructions. But please stay away from this unless you really know your way around a computer. Don't...

This is a nice combo. The jumpers came preset which saved me like 5 minutes :) But it's a nice mid range computer. Make sure to change the PSU voltage supply to 115V, it comes preset at 230V

DON'T BUT THIS UNLESS YOU HAVE VERY HIGH COMPUTER KNOWLEDGE!! The BIOS did not come with the latest update to use the AM2 CPU and the EZ-Flash Utility didn't work right. I've never updated BIOS before and it took me 4 hours to research and test 5 other...

Jaded Asus Fan

I am still an ASUS fan boy even after years of having dead/fickle mobos and now these cases. Just be weary and make sure you test these cases for a while when you get them,if you get any blue screens, make sure it's software and not the case it self....

Great Price, good features

I have had 4 different iterations of this case, all AMD Based 2 different Socket AM2 (667 ddr2), 2 (800 ddr2). All 4, I repeat all 4 have had either bad onboard video or would not boot at all. Newegg of course took them all back no questions asked. I...
