Asus Vivo VM40B-S025K Nettop

Slim, small, nice design, quiet, great price

Not great performance with the copy of Windows 8 it ships with, just takes time to do things (think this is more a Win8 issue). When loaded with Windows 7 Pro it runs really nicely; great for basic computing like web, email, music, videos, etc

So so

I have had this device for about 4 months now and I'm not impressed. It does it's work but it takes fumbling around with it to get it started: unplug, plug back in, see if it works, that doesn't give me a confident feeling. Now it's won't turn off....

It needs some time before you can turn it on. If you disconnect it from the outlet (like I did to save money) it needs a minute before you can start it up

Great for my environment.

I purchased 20 of these systems over the past year strictly for RDP. I have retrofitted them with Win7. They work impressively, delivering just the horsepower I need, the network speed my environment requires, and so far have been largely reliable....

Small footprint, ideal for the microscopic offices I put these into

System is definitely speedier with an SSD ; There's an occasional power issue with these systems (see Bottom Line)

These boxes are cheap

Poor construction and/or manufacturing. I bought two and one of them immediately wouldn't start. There is something with the power supply or power button or whatever. The other one worked but is now starting to show the same problems

Don't waste your money on this piece of junk. The unit had problem with power button or power supply. I had to unplug/replug adapter in order for the unit to booth up. I don’t think there any issue with the power adapter. I test it with my ASUS laptop...

ASUS please put a recall on this produce. It is a piece of junk. It's doesn't work

Newegg should subject this reseller to a lot of extra scrutiny. No reputable, competent, and certified refurbisher would ship a system with malware preloaded.
