Optiplex 780

Fortunately, I had an extra 4GB ram laying around giving it 6GB total. Also put in a Radeon 250X LP and with a little HSF mod, it plays most games on med-high without issue.

Very nice budget PC. Works well and updated to Win 10 pro flawlessly

Came with only 2GB ram, see other thoughts

I am happy

Before I tell you the speed of this PC, I'd like to do a comparision with my office and personal systems. Then you can assess for yourself what I got now. I am in the field of software development for the past 20 years and one of my medium speed PCs in...

1. Very small in size ; 2. Decently fast processor for this price ; 3. Good operating system ; 4. Four GB of RAM for a 32 bit OS as 2X2GB modules ; 5. Ample HD space (320 GB is good) ; 6. E-sata port ; 7. Additional DVI port in addition to VGA port ;...

1. Small size itself wouldn't permit me to install a high end double slot graphics card ; 2. Only comes with a DVD ROM as I very avidly burn DVDs of family videos ; 3. I couldn't fix my full sized 16 DVD RW because of this SFF cabinet ; 4. It would be...

great deal for $180

8 gigs of DDR3 RAM, 3Ghz Core2 duo, 1TB Hitachi HDD, DVD writer ; Got it on sale for $180 ; Considering Win7 Pro is $140 I got all that for $40 and everything worked fine

I recommend loading BIOS defaults first. I wanted to look through everything before booting it from the HDD with a Linux Live USB or CD. It wouldn't boot either until I loaded the BIOS defaults then set SATA to AHCI

a steal for a normal home user.

Highly recommend loading defaults in the BIOS. Initially mine wouldn't boot from the DVD or a USB stick and loading BIOS defaults did the trick. You might have to reselect the entry to set AHCI on the SATA HDD. The defaults vary greatly from how it...

A good deal if you consider that Win7Pro64SP1 OEM alone would cost $139 from Newegg. Since it cost only $179 that means you're getting a computer with 8GB DDR3 RAM, a 3ghz dual core Intel CPU, 1TB Hitachi HDD, 8 x USB ports, HDMI port, DVI port,...

The preloaded Windows 7 image left a little to be desired although it was free of bloatware. Windows Update wouldn't work at all and it had some odd services settings. I had to go through a list of what is considered normal default services and adjust...

Solid, functional, good performing system

I've spent a lot of my career making used PC's function. This refurbished machine was a real pleasure to work on. First, on opening the shipping box I noticed that the case exterior was immaculate. There were no labels (or remains of them), dirt, or...

Solid, functional, good performing system. Exactly as described. Refurbished but looks new. Packaging was basic but functional; no shipping damage. Ran correctly on startup. Included keyboard and mouse are very useable generics. Windows installation is...

Bought 5 - Going to order a few more

The products come with a 1 year warranty, but the warranty isn't through NewEgg or Dell. When I had contacted NewEgg, they referred me to Dell which wasn't correct. There is a contact number on the computer itself, which I had problems using, but I...

Great purchase for an office that doesn't want to spend a lot of money on a new computers. Great support through the refurbisher. All the computers worked, none of them were DOA. They are a great form factor, quiet, use minimal amounts of power. I will...

Out of the 5 computers, 1 of the front cooling fans started making noises immediately. Upon further inspection, it was apparent that the fan had signs of heavy use and required replacement

This is a great upgraded unit for the money. it has been gone thru and completely updated and received in very good order. Easy to set up and get online working. Great for people who do not have the money for the most modern computer tower but is great...

Mad Then Glad...

I didn't notice any damage to the box, but I guess the unit could have been dropped in transit. The disk checked out fine when I wiped it and reloaded my own OS. Hard to believe the CPU cooler left barely connected though.

Beautiful little unit. The computer I received was in A+ condition. The thing looked brand new!!! Computer runs well and is very quiet. Would make a great media server

When I first plugged it in and booted, the disk immediately went into chkdsk and found errors. The errors were reported as fixed, but upon reboot, the sysprepped Windows 7 image would never complete and was stuck in an endless loop. The loop didn't...
