Fast, but incomplete

Using Photoshop CS4, this machine is blindingly fast, and with a 1 GB onboard video chip it needs no extra graphics card. I also bought the ASUS VW246H 24" monitor, and this baby looks GOOD. All apps open very fast, even Internet Explorer 8, and...

Amazingly fast, compact size

This is a HALF-HEIGHT box. Also the included burner is a CD R+W/DVD ROM - not a DVD burner! Storage is only 80GB HDD - you really need an external drive or access to a Z drive. VGA output only. USB ports keep complaining they're not HiSpeed (2.0) -...

DELL Vostro 220S (464-3051) Core 2 Duo E8400(3.00GHz) 2GB DDR2 160GB Intel GMA X4500HD Windows Vista Business / XP Professional downgrade

Great package has all of the essentials. All you need to do is bump up the ram and it is a flawless work PC

Wish it was able to accept more Ram

Solid, small, affordable

This is significantly cheaper than you could get the same PC from Dell.com especially once you consider it comes with the xp downgrade.

Comes with Vista x32 or you can install XP with the included CD. Does not include a Vista x64 CD but if you have a Dell Vista x64 CD you can install it. Amazing price for what you get, powerful enough to be a media PC if you drop a low profile video...

Not really a con but I wish newegg had this same PC available with 4gb memory. The PC only has 2 slots so I had to buy a 2x2gb kit to get 4 gigs in it

Excellent value, Excellent deal !!!

Vostro's are essentially re-badged Inspiron 530/530s models. That's fine by me. We have had good luck with those models. We upgraded RAM to 4GB and a FALCON SSD with an ICY DOCK adapter and this computer is FAST! Combine it with an Asus 24" monitor...

Low price for what you get in the box ; E8400 3.0ghz CPU with 6MB cache is an excellent choice for businesses ; 2GB RAM easily upgradable to 4GB - remember, there's only 2 RAM slots on this board ; Nice looking chassis, too ; Vista Business/XP Pro! No...

I wish there was a DVI connector rather than standard VGA

Small form factor is the ticket

We have bought several of these systems for clients in several applications and have yet to field one single complaint.....Great system overall

This system is laid out very nicely exspecially if space is an issue. All the features you would expect from a standard case size. Internally the support bracket makes the case sturdy enough to place even a CRT monitor on top with little to no sagging....

not necessarily a con but if the unit is stood up know that a little care needs to be taken when using the CD tray. CD's do sit nicely but loose so there is always the possibility that a CD may slip out of the notched and get jammed while closing, but...

Super Fast. Super Easy

Try opening every Microsoft Office app and Internet Explorer at the same time and it still goes fast. Even when I am running Microsoft Office 2007 Enterprise

Can Run my Adobe CS4 apps simultaneously

Intel GMA X4500 HD Graphics not very good in games

4 Gig of RAM watch out

After receipt of my PC I checked out what was delivered against what I ordered. 4 Gig of RAM up from 3 Gig of RAM for an extra $150. Well yes and no. 4 Gig is installed but the Windows professional dell installed is maxed out at 3 Gig of RAM. So I paid...

A great machine for a friend

Very, Very quite. If you don't order too much you avoid bloatware, and are able to configure where the programs go instead of everything being under documents and settings.

I bought this for a friend who wanted a fairly inexpensive faster more modern computer than the one she had. Building this with all it features was not in my price range of the à ; la carte computers I usually build (then again the components are...

None so far, she loves it

Size matters

This computer is compact enough for me to actually put it on my desktop in the flat position with the screen sitting on top of it. This gives me a lot more space for store other stuff in/on my desk. I like the way the CD/DVD tray opens flat in this...

It came with 15 months of McAfee protection, but when I registered it it only shows 12 months of protection, I asked about that, but got no answer

Clarification

Dell don't make rubbish computers and so are a safe bet. That said, almost all our optiplexes failed within a few months of each other after 3 years with the same fault on the motherboard.

To clarify, these computers are fine and I buy a lot of them. Dell always say that they are not supported on a business network, however their optiplex desktop are supported/guaranteed on a network. This has nothing to do with software, or funnily...

Don't believe everything you are told by Dell sales, that's why they're salespeople
