Gateway DX4860-UB21P Refurbished Desktop PC Intel Core i5 2300(2.80GHz) 8GB 1TB HDD Capacity Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit

It seems these reviews are on both ends of the extreme. It looks like I got one of the "good" refurbs.....not disappointed at all. Caveat....if you don't have basic hardware experience in seating cards , cables, and memory, you should probably buy...

Very good combination of components(power supply, as others have noted is not adequate for much expansion, but easily remedied.) Computer is very fast w/plenty of memory. Works great for my needs. Very pleased for the money spent

Case back is quite flimsy, haven't seen this setup on slot covers before. You have to break them out. With a bit of gentle to moderate twisting and some patience, they will break free. Would have rather had the old, traditional, screw in covers. Loose...

Great PC - 2nd time around

My previous review on this item was 1 egg - just changed it to 5.

Solid computer, great bargain

First one I received was a lemon - kept crashing with blue screens, had to send it back

Great Gaming Computer

I recently went to a tech store the other day and saw this same computer on one of the stands and saw that the price was $850. It is a great bang for your buck.

Alright, this computer is absolutely amazing for the price it is placed at on Newegg. The super fast Intel i5 quad core & 8GB Ram can handle everything that I throw at it, without anything crashing. The day that I got it, I popped in a new 500w power...

The 300w power supply is probably the down-fall for this computer, and the lack of a dedicated graphics card and the small case. But it shouldn't be a problem at all if you're willing to spend $100 - $150 for a new power supply or a graphics card, if...

Ran from get go

Before even turning it on i installed my 600w PSU as i have a HD 6770 on its way that will arrive tomorrow. My PSU was bigger than the 240w that was in it but with the case as "SOFT" as it is i was able to wedge it in. The Mobo has a 24 pin power plug...

Just got this so will make other reports in a few months or if things change... It started right up and had no problems so far. Fast and very quiet. The high gloss black case actually looks clean and sharp. Ordered Friday Morning got it wednesday...

Case is very flimsy, take it slow when removing or adding things as it can easily bend. I removed two tabs on the back getting it ready for the GPU tomorrow and it bent the back up, it was easy to bend back ( like butter) but wow talk about SOFT. CPU...

very happy

Really good bang for the buck.

Very fast, does everything I want quickly. Works well. I added a GT 240 Galaxy video card which cost $39 after rebate from New Egg and it was even crisper. Now I do not play #D video games, but Civ 5 which I like runs great. Computer looked great out...

Upgrading the video card was not easy. I had my techie nephew over for X-Mas and he did it for me. Said it was tricky as he had to pop two welded pieces off the back

Bang for buck

Thanks new egg for being the alt vendor to you-know-who. a large river in s. america.

i5 with 8gb of ram makes this a very fast and capable machine (coming from a core2 bottom of line processor). Runs quiet, 2d graphics seem great, minimum worthless ware installed, usb2 ports galore, and win7 actually does find drivers on the web

In light of what i paid (400) it has exceeded expectations. I found the white led's way too bright in our dimly lit computer room. I snipped the wires to led's and left only the the disk access light but covered it 90% with black tape

Bought a Second One!

I bought one of these for myself last month and now one for a family member. Replaced the Power Supply and Video Card with a AMD HD 6850 with the same results as before. Another inexpensive and mid-range gaming PC for under $600 total. Shipping was...

Same as before ; Great little machine with a Core i5 ; Plenty of DDR3 RAM ; Plenty of storage space ; Runs Cool and Quiet

40 more than what I purchased for last month, but still a great price ; Power Supply needs to be replaced before any upgrading ; HDD is on the slow side at 5400RPM, Windows Experience rated at 5.9 ; No Overclocking from the H67 Chipset ; No way to...

Good little computer

I bought this computer in lieu of building a new one. It was only $399 shipped! Building an identical system from scratch with the cheapest parts would cost you well over $550. While this one will be limited for overclocking it is still a great PC. I...

Fast and Powerful Sandy Bridge i5 Quad Core ; Nifty Case ; 8GB of Ram ; 1TB of storage ; Wireless card was a plus ; Great Price

Integraded Graphics, enough to play HD movies, but that's about it ; Hard drive isn't very fast, only 5400RPM ; No overclocking on the intel H-series chipsets ; Bios is very limited ; 300W Power supply will need to be replaced before any expanding
