eMachines T5026

Though it lacks bells and whistles, the eMachines T5026 is a solid, inexpensive system that gets the job done.

Sizable 160GB drive. 3-GHz performance in a $600 package. Plenty of inputs and card readers.

No AGP or PCIe x16 slots for graphics expansion. Non-optical mouse. Limited internal expansion.

The eMachines T5026 is a good computer for the user who wants a computer without all the bells and whistles that will last them a while, or the tinkerer who wants another desktop to play with. It makes a solid system that works right out of the box.

eMachines T5026

The eMachines T5026 offers excellent performance and features among budget PCs, but we're sad to see the AGP slot go by the wayside.

Pentium 4 chip replaces Celeron D parts of yesteryear; Serial ATA hard drive; strong budget performer; double-layer DVD burner; media-card reader.

Cannot be customized at time of purchase; lack of AGP or PCI Express slot precludes graphics upgrades; limited warranty upgrades; phone support requires toll and is not 24/7.

The feature-rich, top-of-the-line eMachines T5026 is Intel based and delivers excellent performance, but it sacrifices the valuable graphics upgrade path of its AMD-based predecessor.

Inexpensive Oldie But Goodie ”

T5026 is to date, quite qa few years old. However, this still remains a sturdy machine. One minor setback is actually a good thing in the long run: It' Random Access Memory or RAM is only at 1 GB but it is capable of handling 3 GB. Take it from an...
