eMachines T5230

eMachines T5230

Overachieving performance for a $500 PC; $50 mail-in rebate; attractive-enough looks.

Competing systems have more robust features.

We like this new eMachines T5230 quite a bit for its fast processor. Our main reservation is that other vendors have become more aggressive in adding features to their low-end PCs, and eMachines has opted for power over a well-rounded PC. Still, if all...

In most respects a standard budget desktop, the eMachines T5230 distinguishes itself with above-average performance, coupled with a nice mail-in rebate.

Better-than-average performance for a low-cost PC, $50 mail-in rebate

Your basic computer

I am typing my review on rated machine and took less than 2 hours from unpacking to 1st reboot. I knew when I ordered that the machine might not be the same as the specs on NewEgg, but I took a chance. My old computer (Athlon XP 2600 SocketA 2GB Radeon...

A basic computer at an OK price. Everything but the monitor (which I have already). Has Dual Core Atlon 4400

The machine I recieved had only 512 ram. The included CD has Vista Basic OEM even though the installed OS is Premium. Only 2 DIMM slots that max out at 2GB. Onboard graphics. No DVI video on motherboard and had to find my old VGA cable. eMachine...

Great Computer!

Great PC for the money.

Computer came looking brand new. Did an inital start up and saw it was preloaded with junk, so I did a reinstall of windows, and upgraded to 2gb of RAM. It starts up in about 20 seconds and runs FLAWLESSLY! It came with Vista Home Basic, NOT PREMIUM...

Preloaded Junk - 1gb Ram - Upgrade and you will be fine

Price<Performance

I read all the pros and cons of this product before I bought this machine (my 4th Emachine.) I had never had a problem with any of them. Not one problem with this one so far. I love it. I can't imagine a better desktop for the price period. I will do...

Haven't found anything wrong with the machine

So Far So Good

I paid less for this PC than the warrity I bought for my quad core PC. My quad core doesn't run much if any faster.

I bought this for my Dad to do email and check the internet. Way more PC then he needed but WOW for the price, what a PC. As the others stated I reloaded the OS with the provided disk. It is up and running now within 1 minute of pushing the on button....

Not much of a waranty. It would be nice to have someone stand behind their product but for this price.... I guess you can't have it all

DO NOT BUY

e machine computer will absolutely fight with you and make it sound like Newegg built the thing to self-destruct on boot up, which we know is completely false. Additionally, I had a tech with the badge # GWNR116 tell me she would take my computer out...

None, at all

OS was partially installed, froze on first boot. eMachines, came with wrong drivers for just about everything. Tech support had me on the phone literally all day because someone would tell me that they do not honor the warranty,or it is Neweggs problem....
