Thermal Shutdown Problem

I installed Athlon XP 2400 with good quality AMD brand fan and heat sink. Starts running fine, then suddenly powers off. I found a bios setting "Shutdown Temperature" with choices of 60C,70C,80C, or disabled. I set it to "disabled", but now it shuts...

Nice Cheap Computer, especially if you happen to have some used parts laying around

Suffers CPU Thermal Shutdown, and there are no adjustments to that might help. Found the well-hidden web site from a URL posted here, but no useful documentation is available

Classy and cheap

I've been looking for a mobo for some time now and this one was a great deal. The keyboard was disappointing but I wasn't going to use it anyways. Given the price I can hardly complain.

Great case design and full featured mobo for low cost

Keyboard DOA but to be honest, I was expecting the keyboard/mouse ; The CD-Rom drive bay covers got hung-up while closing. Fixed this problem by removing the springs and putting them on backwards, now they work great

Impressed

To the comment about the drivers, I am using XP home and had no problems at all with the drivers on the cd included.

Straight forward installation. Started up first try. very stable with a Athlon Xp 2600+, Fx5500, 512mb of pc2700. Also the price is unbeatable for the easy of use and "quality

Not Bad

Inexpensive with nice bonus items, such as the memory card reader, keyboard and optical mouse

Couple of things keep this from being an excellent barebones system. The keyboard and mouse are cheap, though they do work fine. No way to set the CPU frontside bus in the BIOS or through jumpers. The blue light in front looks like an old eveready...

Really Great Socket A Barebones

I'm now thinking about getting a third unit, although I don't need one at all. I can keep in on the shelf for a rainy day.

My second barebones of this model. The second one also works really GREAT using the 1.6 Duron from Newegg, which is a 266 FSB CPU. Beautiful case. Excellent win98se driver support (so it will obviously work with XP). Very light weight, easy to carry....

Dont like the card reader taking up the only floppy drive space. The 5 1/2 inch optical drives are limited by the overly spring-loaded but cool looking mechanism. Requires some knowledge of installing CPU/Heatsink, hooking up connectors and the like,...

Nice case - bad drivers

Oddly enough, Linux has no problems with the motherboard and can handle it nicely. Installed dual boot to Fedora Core 5 and XP SP2 and I'm still trying to get XP to work right after a week of driver wrangling...

Very nice case, well put together and love the lights and extra touches, easy to get into and install components

Windows XP hates this motherboard from a fresh install. You will spend hours getting drivers from the internet and reloading vga, network, and USB drivers for the onboard components. The disk sent with the system is garbage. My choice would be to skip...

it burned up my amd athlon 1700+ at least i think it did, it wouldnt work on the computer it originally came from, so now i wont ever try a 266 FSB chip in it anymore, but newegg doesnt have anytother socket a chips :( has anyone had success using a...

Excellent Socket A Barebones

Very nice barebones for regression therapy. I am getting another one, so am very happy the first. I may use a Duron 1.6 for the next experiment, since the included documentation says it's compatable. I think that the motherboard may have high infant...

Very beautiful case, very high performance with Sempron 1.8 GHz Thoroughbred for win98se/linux. Good backward compatability with win98se for driver support except USB2.0. Lightweight, and very quiet with the right cpu fan choice. Nice and simple...

Bottom PCI slot has capacitors blocking use of slot with some cards. No win98se drivers for USB 2.0, extra PCI card needed for this. Memory card reader needed removal to instal floppy drive. Top 3.5 inch drive slot blocked from use. Socket A CPU's...
