What a mistake

Perhaps in the interests of accuracy, instead of labelling items 'refurbished', Newegg can label them 'broken' or 'garbage'.

It's not on fire.

Nice laptops, but the screens developed problems quickly.

When you buy refurbished gear you take your chances. I'm not likely to take such a chance again--$800 is too much for two defective laptops.

If you get one of these that works, they're a great deal. Perfect for students: good midrange size, powerful with a lot of RAM, and touchscreen functionality. The laptops look nice, seem to be fairly tough, and the keyboards feel nice when typing.

Both laptops developed the same problem in a matter of months: bubbles appeared along the bottom edge of the screens, near the center, and the touchscreen functionality ceased to work. Since these are refurbished models, Newegg will not take them back....

great system

Will probably be buying another Chromebook in near future. Hope it does not have the hum that this one does.

We have had this Chromebook for just over 1 year. Love it. SSD is fast. Nice screen size, wife loves it. Google Chrome OS is awesome, we are big Google product users. I love not having to maintain another computer in the house. This thing generally...

The unit does have an odd slight hum. Reason for knocking off 1 star. Is probably a glitch in our particular laptop's hard drive.

Refurbished: HP Pavilion 14-n018us (E8A80UA#ABA) NotebookAMD A-Series A8-5545M

I hope all the updates install smoothly, and all drivers and apps function properly after updates are completed.

Looks nice. Condition is like new. Need more time to assess performance.

I'm disappointed, the laptop ONLY has WIN 8 installed. Decription and title state WIndows 8.1, and it ONLY has WIN 8. So, I'm forced to spend time updating the laptop. It's a little slow at boot up, which is normal for 5400 rpm hard drives.

Mine looks absolutely new!

Hard to navigate using Windows 8.

A lot thinner than I'm used to. Nice keyboard feel. Good sound and decent volume too. Quad core, DVD multi drive. Attractive design. Touch Screen.

Shipped with Windows 8, upgraded to Windows 8.1 , Very hard to adjust to either version. The first one I received had a dead power supply, the next one had the wrong power supply and would not physically plug into the power jack. 3rd time was the charm...

Battery

Like new

Except on start up I got a warning that the battery capacity was low and might need replacing. I shipped it back and got a replacement. Same problem. Called HP tech support. All they said was sorry
