HP Pavilion HPE-170t

At first glance, HP's Pavilion HPE-170t might look out of place in the Value PC category. And it almost is: Its price of $1434 (as of February 19, 2010) nearly shoots above the category's limit, close enough to make anyone wonder about the "value" in...

Tons of memory ; Very fast hard-drive RAID array

Limited upgradability ; Lacks advanced external connectivity

This system is plenty fast, but HP had to overlook a few elements in order to achieve the HPE-170t's price-to-performance ratio.

HP Pavilion Elite HPE-170t

Solid performance, good-looking design, and surprisingly practical software make the HPE-170t a winning performance PC.

Practical system design; great overall performance; useful bundled applications

Pricey for a mainstream desktop; limited upgrade potential

The HP Pavilion Elite HPE-170t’s attractive and practical design, great performance, and genuinely useful software all add up to a very compelling mainstream desktop PC. Perhaps the only downsides to the system are its relative lack of upgradability...

Good except for support

Great, as long as you dont need tech support. Graphics card aimed at gamers. Would prefer a card that didnt require its own cooling fan.

Good, fast computer with right balance of features for heavy user

All HP Tech support is based entirely in Ind**. My graphics card fan was making too much noise. They offered to replace it. That took 4 WEEKS! Indian tech support folks seemed to have no control over replacement

Great PC

Seems that this machine was offered after the motherboard problem, all I can tell you is that this runs VERY stable, and VERY fast. If you buy this machine, you will not be disappointed

This machine runs great..I have bought 3 rigs from HP and I have never been disappointed, from my P4 to this, love HP

Outstanding desktop!

This elite desktop from HP rocks!  It is exceptionally fast and the video graphics are superb.  I love everything about this, including the Lightscribe burning DVD recorder.  Of course you may not need it and it is slow to burn images onto the disc,...

High Performance, Low Price

For years, I built my own desktops. You can make a powerful machine at a very low price if you have the time and desire to buy the parts and slap them together, then spend eight hours making it work. Four years ago, I built my magnum opus. Taco Grande....

Great processor and graphics card, strong price point, it's an HP

Cheap hard drive & RAM, more expensive than building yourself
