More than expected

Newegg as usual is exceptional. I have ordered a video card to add. I looked long and hard for a cheap, low power, vid card. I wanted the best bang for the buck without having to get a power supply upgrade. I chose the sapphire radeon x1550 w/512m ddr...

I have purchased (recert - refurb) before.... A Compaq (hp) laptop last year was excellent... So I tried it again. I must say this unit is FAST... The triple core shares the load very well... A game I play, or HD defrag, which on my "other" computer (a...

When I first hooked it up and pressed the power button for the first time the system fans ran but nothing else did.... I thought oh no a bad deal. I called HP tech support and after going through their standard steps.. "is the monitor plugged in, is it...

I'm happy...

For the price it's a great machine. Processor, hard drives and motherboard are FAST. You can easily install a video card if you need faster graphics.

FAST machine Vista speed rating of 5.6 to 5.8 on most parts except onboard video chipset. Easily fixed by adding a video card

Video is a little slow... too slow for gaming. Perfect for almost everything else ; Vista stinks even when it working well... Which isn't too often. Considering low cost and little worthwhile software included might switch to Ubuntu

I would do it again

I'm just flat out impressed with it for the money.

Machine is quick, the 3gb's of ram moves it along nicely. I fully expected to uninstall Vista and install XP given the horror stories about Vista. But it has given me no grief. I installed a video card, and it plays COD 4 beautifully. Decent integrated...

I think some of the complaints stem from the fact that the first time you start it up it does take about half an hour or so for the machine to set up.Blank screens, etc. But they tell you this in the instructions. You have to burn your own recovery discs

Another satisfied customer

No XP, but I guess we have to get used to Vista since XP would be "obsolete" in a few months (so they say).

The HP a6430f PC is a true genius. AMD Phenom triple-core processor (2.1 GHZ), 3.0gb ram, and plenty of room space in 640GB hard drive. Plus it's cheap! Hard to believe, but true. Downloading music and movies are much quicker, and it's great for gaming

My own ISP Bellsouth's own Anti-Spy software, unfortunately, would not work with Windows Vista (for the time being). At least this system came with Norton's Security

Think twice!!

Read their return policy (or lack of one) very carefully before you order anything.

NONE!! It hasn't ran properly since I got it 5 days ago

More than I can count! First of all I was sent a "refurbished" unit. Online it said it was "recertified". This unit has been nothing but trouble since the day that it came. I have been on the phone with HP tech support everyday trying to fix this so...

Computer Will NOT Power Down

You will need to buy a dedicated videocard unless you are presbyopic, have an older monitor, or simply have more pressing concerns than the state of video on your screen.

Very fast, quiet computer with small form factor. Great bang for the buck. Actually bought the item through the newsletter and paid $400 including tax and shipping. Had my own copy of Windows Vista Premium 32bit and reinstalled OS due to the incredible...

BEWARE, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR WITH RECERTIFICATION! BIG PROBLEM with the unit not shutting off. I still need to find the time to contact NEWEGG about this problem but when you shut down the computer from the Start menu, the output to the monitor...

Not as advertised

After calling newegg customer service, I was pretty much told I was out of luck, as the unit is "Recertified" it pretty much means they can sell you a single 640gb, two 320gb drives, or any other numerous combination of drives to be "equal" to the...

The unit itself is solid overall. It performs well with 3gb or memory, and the Hard Drive and processor are fast enough to prevent many snags. Three cores are better than two, it would seem. Vista Home Premium, so it has the advanced features. It does...

The trouble I had was in the description given by Newegg/HP versus what was received. In the description for the item in two distinct places, it indicated that this unit was supposed to have two 320gb hard drives. I wished to make a RAID array for...

Fast, quiet with muscle to spare

The best thing I can say about it is, it's quiet! Thinking my ears were mistaken, I turned off the ceiling fan, the fan in the next room, and my D-Link NAS which remits a slight hum. You could hear a pin drop. I've never gotten a commerical PC that was...

I got one of these recertified. I dabble in audio and video production and I had upgraded my previous PC as far as I could. I was opting between building my own and a commercial PC I'd have to tweak and upgrade later, and I opted for this HP, but the...

PSU (300W) ; Graphics card if you're into gaming. But for my needs the onboard graphics are fine ; Limited to 4GB of RAM on 32-bit operating systems ; 100Mb ethercard. I think by now we need to be talking GbE. I move around video files which are...

pretty nice set

if all youre doing is just simple tasts, surfing the web, simple home stuff, this computer is about the best you can get, ive had it for almost a year now and the only problems are ones from my lack of experience in certain ways, if you want to play...

runs smooth, doesnt get overpowered by simple operations, i bought a 24 inch HD flatscreen to upgrade and changing it over to the new screen and resolution was very simple, the media ports on the top of the unit work perfectly without hassle, the...

the keyboard it comes with is average at best and the mouse is pretty bad for the most part, it was bearable at first but i had to get a new mouse within 3 weeks, the video card is pretty lacking if youre planning on playing anything less than a two...
