IBuyPower Media-XP

Limited media machine runs quietly and looks great.

Quiet and great-looking, this black-aluminum PC could pass for a stereo component, but it lacks the extras that would propel it to the top of our chart.

iBuyPower Media-XP

This new iBuyPower Media-XP Media Center PC will technically get the job done, but for its price, you shouldn't have to deal with its audio hang-ups.

Looks nice with A/V components; large hard drive; 3-year warranty.

Noisy fan; no wireless keyboard or mouse; so-so 3D performance; poor-quality speakers.

On paper, the iBuyPower Media-XP looks like a solid buy, but there's no excuse for such poor audio in a Media Center PC. We recommend holding off.

iBuyPower Media-XP

Innovation, style, and a hefty price tag usually abound in the world of boutique PC vendors. Fortunately for those on a budget, iBuyPower often manages to get away with a decent amount of the first two and rarely anything approaching the third. With...

Attractive home-theater-component case. Dual tuners. Good value

Needs wireless keyboard and mouse, and larger hard drive

The iBuyPower Media-XP is an attractively priced, living-room-friendly Media Center entry. The dual TV tuners at this price are a welcome bonus.
