Intel NUC5i7RYH Broadwell-U Iris NUC Review

Over the last couple of years, mini-PCs in the ultra-compact form factor (UCFF) have emerged as one of the bright spots in the troubled PC market. Intel's NUC systems are one of the most popular in this category. The lack of graphic prowess in the NUCs...

The final aspect that we talk about today is pricing. The NUC5i7RYH seems to be available on pre-order for

Intel Next Unit of Computing (NUC) 5i7RYH Review and Ratings

An impressively speedy, compact DIY PC, this "Broadwell" Core i7 PC kit pumps up the graphics and supports two storage drives. It faces stiff competition, however, in Alienware's cheaper Alpha, which sports spunkier Nvidia graphics.

Very compact ; Includes both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth ; Reduced-size AC adapter ; Supports both M.2 and 2.5-inch drives ; Three-year warranty

Pricey once you add RAM, storage, and an OS ; Noticeable fan noise when gaming ; Other compact PCs deliver better gaming performance for less

We like what Intel is doing with the NUC platform, making it more mainstream and friendlier to consumers by including wireless connectivity out of the box, and making the power cable more streamlined. And considering the modest increase in height, we...

Absolutely awesome but of kit. If you need a fast workstation or media PC then this is it. I fitted 16meg if ram and a SSD. Installed Windows 10 in about 15 mins and end result is a super fast, super stable workstation. Recommended.

Would have been good to have a mini to normal hdmi cable in the box as was unable to connect this to a new LCD with the usual cables supplied with LCDs. As the PC is slightly different in its video output solutions I had to source a mini to standard...

I bought this to use as a media server running Plex and I haven't been disappointed, I'm running it with a 128gb M.2 SSD, 1tb hard drive and 8Gb RAM. Very impressed.

Price could be a bit cheaper but still money well spent.

Installed Windows 10 Pro, memory HyperX 16GB 1600Mhz DDR3L and storage of Samsung 500GB 850 EVO M.2 SSD. It's fantastic! Starts Windows and ready to use in about 10 seconds! I'm running VMware workstation with multiple guest VMs and this works really...

The fan does get a bit noisy when heavily loaded. At normal use fan noise can't generally be heard.

Super compact PC with fast processor to be used with fast SSD for best performance.

Well known issue with the intel bluetooth adapter that doesn't always work when turning ON the NUC making it difficult to use a bluetooth keyboard and mouse.

Powerful Little Unit

I have worked both with the NUC and the BRIX from Gigabyte and, with this gen (based on Intel's 5th gen procs), I prefer the NUCs from Intel over the BRIX for a number of reasons. After putting each together I noticed the construction and layout of the...
