ASRock ION 330-BD Review (Home Media Centre PC)

In my seemingly never ending quest for the perfect home media centre PC, I've come across quite a few small form factor PC's in the past, built a few of my own and looked at dedicated set top boxes like the Boxee Box. They all had one fundamental...

The ASRock ION 330-BD HTPC certainly lives up to the promise of being an ideal media centre, probably better than the likes of the Dell Inspiron Zino HD. It can handle full 1080p HD content without any issue and has a wide range of ports for various...

ASRock ION 330 Desktop PC Review

Small is in! That seems to be the mantra followed by Personal Computers, with users wanting smaller ways to enjoy computing. Companies like Intel and ASRock have realised that and are working on making the PCs as compact as possible without...

The ASRock ION 330 was projected as a low powered unit with a reasonable MSRP that can handle 1080p res and playback. And that is true. The power requirements were very low drawing only about 40W at a given time. Apart from being so low powered, the...

ASRock ION 330-BD Nettop Review

Where netbooks go, their deskbound nettop brethren eventually follow, and as NVIDIA's Ion GPU has made its impact on the graphics capabilities of budget ultraportables, so it has its sights set on compact desktops too. ASRock and NVIDIA worked together...

ASRock ION 330 dual core w/NVIDIA ION nettop review

If you’re in the market for a small form factor machine for basic desktop computing, light weight gaming, or for turning into a home theater PC you might want to wait a few weeks to see if something better comes along. But as long as you don’t expect...

Asrock ION 330

The Asrock ION 330 is based on nVidia's ION platform. This comprises a Pico-ITXe motherboard that features nVidia's GeForce 9400M GPU, either DDR3 1066 or DDR2 800 memory and a variant of Intel's Atom processor

ASRock Nettop ION 330-BD - HardwareZone.com

There's no denying that NVIDIA's Ion platform is a capable performer where HD video decoding is concerned. ASRock is the latest vendor to pick up on the Ion with their Nettop ION 330-BD. Armed with a dual-core Atom 330 processor and a Blu-ray drive, it...

Great starter HTPC - but thats it...

I would recommend this product if you dont mind fan noise and dont plan on making any modifications to the original configuration. I feel if this box was designed flatter/ wider there would be more room for dual fans and more room for an additional...

Small/compact ; OOB, can support 1080p video ; Remote works with little effort (if you are using Windows, linux...good luck) ; Very Energy efficient

The configuration of this box makes it hard to make modifications. Adding the other 2.5" sata internal HD was a hassle, there is no room in this box. The fans and heatsinks don't adequately cool. The way the heatsinks are set up make replacing the fans...

Excellent Media Center box

I used this to replace an old P4. Compared to a P4, this thing FLIES. 720p video playback uses <15% cpu (graphics is offloaded to ion chip). Did not use drive disc, downloaded nforce package from nvidia; that was all I needed.

Tiny, attractive, quiet, full-featured, fast ; Audio ports are excellent: 3x1/8" for surround or optical spdif or hdmi with audio included. Video supports vga/dvi/hdmi ; Very easy to integrate with whatever setup you have ; This is a great platform for...

Fans are quiet, but they are audible. Since they are small, they are a higher pitch than larger systems, may be more perceptible to some than others. Hard drive could be faster, but that's to be expected from 5400rpm

Awesome HTPC

Some one else said it could use rubber feet, but it came with a little rubber circle to sit on that keeps it from sliding. Another review said that the LED was annoying, but there is a BIOS switch called "goodnight LED" which is really nice. Running...

Solid build, nice specs, extremely easy overclocking

The only thing I can think of, is that the DVD drive doesn't pop all the way out, its more like a laptop drive, but its no big issue
