Working Well

Didn't really like vista so I did a reinstall with XP. Was able to find most of the drivers on lenovo's website and working good thus far.

Very good specs for its price. Working well so far

like other people mentioned, a bit low on RAM but can be easily solved

Good for the price

I can't really complain for the price.

Everything runs smooth and Vista feels clean

Vista is memory hungry, but luckily memory is cheap now. I'll have to buy a better PSU if I want to put in a nice video card. Comes with a lot of junkware but that can be easily removed. No manuals or disks

Good Computer

With it being a 32-bit OS it's only going to read 2 GB RAM.

Great computer for the price

wasnt complaining about the computer

Honestly, I have no regrets about this purchase. I will likely splurge for another. Vista is here to stay. I love the chess game.

I commented about the recovery disks because most novices will not make them. The system is a bargin. I purchsed extra memory and installed it before the first bootup. Then backed up the computer within an hour after putting it into use

Only con is memory hungry vista. Not the machines fault that its all thats available now. It has its cool points

I'm suprised at some of the reviewers

Vista is known as memory hungry!! Buy extra RAM for the system or its going to be slow all around. 4 Gig should do it, memory is CHEAP!! Again, people who claim thier tech level is high?? The BIOS only see's 2gig? Check your settings, brother. And that...

For the money, this is a great system for the average home user. I'm suprised at some of the comments by folks who rate themselves as "high" tech level ; Few companies ship recovery disks any longer without you paying extra for them. Buy another drive...

Best backup software on planet

The Lenovo/Thinkvantage software, plus the ability to add 3 yr next business day onsite warrantee cheaply make this a great deal.

Rescue & Recovery come with the computer. You create your own "Recovery Discs" and also you use the software to make backups to Local, USB Hard Drive, DVD, Network. Incremental backups are quick. System Update is great and so is the Password Manager....

Lenovo products

See above for recovery disks

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad and was able to make my own recovery disks through a program on the Machine. Check this out to see if it solves the missing recovery disk problems

added thoughts but someone beat me to it

I intend to clone my hardisk to another and put it away in case of a meltdown. This costs additional money and takes the value out of buying this system. Buyer beware, it appears most systems are coming thru without restore disks now. Laptops included....

price semed right as previously stated. NewEgg Delivers super fast. System is purring except the hard drive runs 5-6 mins steady after boot up...very annoying and I cant figure out whats running in the back ground

someone beat me to this comment. No restore disks and it costs $50 plus tax to get them, thats if you can get thru the confusing menus system once you call. Also, if you want to add a second optical drive, good luck finding a bezel. MB data is not...

Nice Machine except for Vista

Immediately upgraded memory with a pair of 2 gig memory chips (4meg total)because of Vistas known slow performance. However, bios only sees two and Vista appears to see three. Ive just learned Vista can only see 4 megs if you use the 64 bit version....

Good value, features, whisper quiet. I just had to have it for some reason

Vista. Takes forever to load, and to much crapware, trial stuff. Everything about Vista is confusion. Difficult to configure and delete unwated programs
