NComputing L230

The L230 is solid thin client hardware for word processing, low-level spreadsheet work, web browsing and other office tasks.

A cost-effective and relatively easy way to add extra users to an existing network, Terminals are low-power, secure, easy to administer and quiet, Works with Windows- or Linux-based host PCs, Up to 30 terminals supported (with a server OS running on...

Long and slightly confusing install process, Performance is inversely related to the number of terminals installed, and directly related to the computing power of the host PC, Unsuitable for demanding applications

NComputing L230

NComputing's L230 thin client is an option if you need to add a group of low-impact users to an existing Ethernet LAN. However, you'll need to ensure that the host PC is adequately specified to deliver acceptable performance to the terminals attached...

OS Restrictions

Will need to upgrade OS before I can use this product.

Nice small unit

limited potential

I got mine for free bundled with an HP Proliant N40L. If I'd paid for it, I'd have returned it because of the poor sound quality.

extremely low power consumption small form factor works with XP like a champ price was right (free)

Sound quality is GARBAGE... lots of noise, hums, and static... interference from the video circuit (pitch of the hum changes with the resolution setting). Shipped with Win2k/XP only software... I want to use this with Win7, WHS2011, and Solaris....

Massive Hidden Costs!!!

Even though they advertise half the price of a base PC there are still massive licensing costs you must implement. You can only legally connect 1 user to a Win XP Vista 7 install. You must upgrade to a server edition of Win which costs $1000, about 10...

Works Fine.

It works!, but, the USB plug that it has only supports VERY basic devices (Flash Drive, Mouse and Printer); If you need to have a Signature Pad, Credit Card reader and stuff like that, better off purchasing a small computer.

Great value for your money, but restrictive

Pros: This item works perfectly well in a windows environment, including the controversial windows vista, and the newer windos 7. Excellent choice for price restricted networks, it allows for an inexpensive infrastructure.Cons: It requires the user to...

USB Feature rocks!

I own some of these and the L120 product. I like this higher model because you can plug flash drives into the USB, or in my case a USB printer.
