Shuttle XPC SD32G2 review

While most of the systems in this group are black, Shuttle's SD32G2 is silver. It looks smart, but to avoid spoiling its looks you'll need to find an optical drive with a silver bezel.

Shuttle SD32G2

Small form factor PCs are very popular among users for their versatility and compactness. After having used an AOpen Xcube for almost 3 years, I am now a big fan of noiseless PCs with small dimensions. Shuttle is a well respected company which mainly...

Ending our presentation, we are satisfied with our purchase. We had a strong belief in Shuttle's name and at an initial cost of €325, you can start building a SFF PC that can prove to be a good companion for many years. As always, the choice is yours....

Brilliant!

Very happy with my new shuttle. Easy to build (although the instructions are not very detailed), extremely quiet and very stylish. I had to shop around for Shuttle accessories such as 22 in 1 card reader and Wireless LAN Module. Shuttle have improved...

Easy to build as usual with Shuttle cases - fast with Core 2 duo cpu and 2GB ram

Very Nice Core 2 Duo System

I haven't actually tested this, but some are complaining about a 2GB limit. The manual stated that the 2GB limit is for each memory slot and with two memory slots -> the system supports a total of 4GB max.

Overall this system is a good buy, low in cost (relative to other shuttle cases) and supports Core 2 Duo. I actually prefer this case design, simple, elegant, and no moving doors in the front to break of or wear out prematurely as in the G5 cases. I...

The only issue I have run into, which is real annoying, is that when something is plugged into the headphone jack it does not mute the rear speaker jacks, other wise I would have given 5 stars. I installed the latest drivers R173 downloaded from...

Works fine with Fedora 7

I added a 2.13 GHz Core 2 duo, 2 1 Gb sticks of Kingston RAM, 2 Seagate barracuda OEM drives (need 1 more SATA cable), a 16x DVD burner and a wireless card. Took about 2 hours to assemble - the case is logical, fuctional, and above average in quality....

Extremely powerful in a compact size

Onboard raid controller of earlier models included RAID - this does NOT have SATA RAID hardware

Great Mid-Range System

The power LED is brigh blue and can be used to bring in the space shuttle from space. Also the cutouts accomodating the USB, firewire, mic and headset jacks could be smaller. Biostar's iDeqs are much better at this.

Easy to get around in, very quiet thanks to the heatpipe cooling solution

Power supply could be of a higher wattage. No optical audio out

Whats not to like?

Great stable box for Vista put in one 2G stick of ram and one 1G stick of ram and it will read all your ram. Best buy from shuttle bar none.

Very stable chipset with ~4 revisions, will take up to 4G of memory[3.25 read], pci slot, 4USB on the back, two in front and two "mini usb headers on board", will run very well at 300Mhz

4G limit only allows 3.25G of ram to be read, length of G case doesn't allow a 8800 GTX to be utilized. single slot gfx allowed

Easy to build.

Don't regret buying this system, I have another fullsize system. I'll be using this one for video and audio editing. I filled the bays with what I need HD, DVD-RW, and a floppy just in case.

I purchased this system as my first build. The instructions were clear, and I had it up and running in about 2 hours, no problems whatsoever. The small size is great, really sharp looking pc

Its small size limits the video cards you could use, only allows for max of 2gig ram. If you want many drives, forget this system. Only has a 250watt Power supply

Shuttle SD32-G2-SV-V1 Intel Core 2 Extreme / Core 2 Duo / Pentium EE Intel Socket T(LGA775) Intel 945G Intel GMA 950 Barebone

overclocks to FSB 320 with no problem. higher than that and the SATA locks up. idles at 40 and is 50 under load. for being a small form factor computer, it does everything that one would expect from one. this isnt an enthusiat class barebones after all

for me, size was a pretty big thing when it came to getting a computer. the manual is very detailed with full-color pictures explaining the installation process

although the graphics specifications are better than those on my old fx5200, at points where there is a lot to be rendered, framerated drop quite a bit
