Systemax Venture VX2 Review

Systemax has built a very solid mid-range gaming machine with the VX2.

Systemax Venture VX2 B67IVU

The Systemax VX2 B67IVU packs a lot of multimedia performance into a system that sells for half the price of more ostentatious rigs.

Vista Ultimate. Four gigs of system memory. A terabyte of storage. Very good multimedia performance. Good performance for the price. Less bloatware.

Uninspiring styling. GPU fan and drives are a little loud. Could use a data drive to back up its RAID 0 configuration.

Smart mix of components provides good performance for a great price; runs quietly; upgrading to Vista won't be a problem.

Thanks to the Intel chipset, the only dual-graphics-card option is ATI's CrossFire; 500-watt power supply further limits your dual-card options; the system's Radeon X1950 XTX card is a bit behind the times; fixed configuration.

It doesn't look like your typical gaming box, but fortunately the Systemax Venture VX2 also carries a price that's atypical of a gaming PC. It's one of the better-outfitted $2,000 PCs we've come across. Gamers and anyone running high-end graphics apps...

Systemax Venture VX2 B671VU

All that is gold needn't glitter. Case in point: Inside the Systemax Venture VX2 B67IVU's ($2,499.99 direct) workaday case is a high-end multimedia system. Its speedy dual-core processor, the 2.66-GHz Intel Core 2 Duo E6700, is the top of the line for...

The Systemax VX2 B67IVU may have a confusing name, but it's a good value in a performance PC. For half the price of many gaming machines, you'll get a solid PC that lets you quickly work on multimedia projects and then get back to some 3D leisure...

An impressive warranty helps elevate this otherwise nondescript system to one you should consider for home- or office-productivity use.

Three-year onsite warranty, Large hard drive, Plenty of expansion room

Not configurable, Limited business-software selection
