Canon EOS 2000D

Canon EOS 2000D Review: A small upgrade to Canon's basic entry-level model

Simple to use ; High-resolution sensor ; Built-in Wi-Fi

Fixed, non touch-sensitive screen ; No 4K video ; Optical viewfinder displays only 95%

Canon EOS Rebel T7 / EOS 2000D review

Canon's no-frills entry-level DSLR gets a very minor update

Easy to use ; Logically laid out controls ; Decent battery life

Dated 9-point AF ; Only 3fps burst shooting ; Plastic finish ; No touchscreen ; Sluggish Live View focusing ; Only 1080p video

With the only real difference over the EOS Rebel T6 / EOS 1300D being the upgrade of the sensor from 18MP to 24.1MP, it's hard to get excited about the EOS Rebel T7 / EOS 2000D / EOS 1500D. If there was an uprated AF system with Canon's Dual Pixel CMOS...

Canon EOS 2000D review: Is this the sub-£500 DSLR you're looking for?

The EOS 2000D is a safe choice for beginners on a budget, but rivals make it look outdated in some key areas

Great for beginners ; Responsive autofocus ; Practical control layout

Lacks processing power ; Rivals offer better value ; Some features are outdated

When it comes to entry-level DSLRs, Canon has always tended to deliver models that are easy to recommend. However, that's not the case with the EOS 2000D.

Canon EOS 2000D dslr and mirrorless camera review

  (Rating Hidden)

The EOS 2000D is Canon's latest release to the entry-level market of DSLR cameras, and an update to the 1300D. It brings together some updated aspects, such as an improved sensor, but weirdly it omits others, like a rear touchscreen. Does this camera...

Canon EOS 2000D Review

Canon's entry level 2000D sits slightly above the 4000D, and replaces the 1300D with a 24mp sensor.

The Canon EOS 2000D is a minor update to the Canon EOS 1300D. Whilst the 1300D was (and still is) a budget DSLR, with built-in Wi-Fi, as an entry level model its basic specification could be accepted due to the low price. Two years later, the Canon EOS...

Canon EOS Rebel T7

Canon's EOS Rebel T7 SLR camera features an upgraded image sensor, but is still way behind the curve in other areas.

24MP image sensor. On-screen shooting guide. Raw support. Sharp LCD. Wi-Fi-enabled. Inexpensive.

Fixed rear LCD without touch input. Dated image processor limits high ISO capture. Autofocus not available when recording video. Slow 3fps burst rate.

Like the T6 that came before it, the T7 is a disappointing, underwhelming entry-level model from a trusted brand. Canon knows how to make a good camera, and with a few refinements the T7 could be one. But it's too far behind other models. If you want...

Canon Digital Rebel

Expandable ; Great value ; Excellent image quality ; Easier to use than other digital SLRs ; Excellent performance

AF illuminator works only for flash shots ; Plastic body ; Many manual features missing, compared with the EOS 10D

Canon EOS Rebel T7

Canon is not giving up on entry-level DSLRs and the new Rebel 7 is proof. It's an upgrade over the two-year-old Rebel T6, but not as significant of one as you might think. It has a new 24.1 MP APS-C CMOS sensor which is an improvement by 6 megapixels,...
