PowerShot SD1300 IS Digital ELPH

For many years now, the trend on this website has been to review the more expensive, cutting-edge cameras. Not only do those cameras capture my interest -- they are what the majority of DCRP readers are curious about, as well. Recently, I was reminded...

Really like the camera

It's a nice little camera. I like it so much better than one used in the past (Nikon L18).

Lightweight ; compact (can fit in your pocket) ; fast start up time ; simple ; user friendly ; pretty good processing time

Haven't found any as of now

She likes it

Bought this for my girlfriend and I must say that I am not impressed... My Nikon Coolpix S620 is sooo much better! I thought of switching it for the coolpix, but w.e its not a problem for my gf. I gave it 3 stars because it is a ALRIGHT camera, if...

Good quality when standing absolutely still and when you get lucky ; Nice color (probably why my girlfriend likes it) ; Easy to use ; Buttons are large and comfy ; Good size ; Wide lens ; Good mp ; Good functions

The camera has mood swings, literally! Most times it takes stunning pictures while sometimes they come out blurry ; Unlike the s620 this has no stability control I believe, therefore it is EXTREMELY hard to take a picture on zoom... You must have the...

It is classy and it takes great pictures

In real life I get around 300 or more pictures with some of them using the flash, your still need a second battery for a backup. You do not get a SD card with the camera. A 4gb card class 4 or class 6 would be a good place to start (if your going to...

The menu screens are large and easy to read ; The SD1300 seems to have a nice sharp lens even at the telephoto end of the zoom ; Very fast start up time of just over 1 sec ; I can not tell any difference in shot to shot or flash shot to shot times...

The SD1300 does have a weak battery door cover like the SD1200 ; No camera is perfect ; Some will miss the HD 720p in the movie mode that the SD940,SD1400 has, The SD1300 has 640x480 at 30fps like the canon SD1200, G11 and S90 ; The SD1300 has no...

Light balancing is poor

Spend more money and buy the Canon PowerShot S95

Lightweight

Taking pictures. As much as I've tried I cannot get a good photo with this camera. If it's a little dark the flash fires washing out whatever is being photographed. This means the black level of the histogram has to be adjusted EVERY time with only...

Poor Photo Quality

I get better image qaulity form a 4 1/2 year old Sony DSC-W5 at 1MP that I was able to get from the SD1300 at 12MP.

Small, light weight, easy to navigate menus

Average image quality ; I don't understand the good reviews for the SD1300. Images are not sharp. Colors tend to be washed out indoors with and without flash. Color balance is off outdoors, shifted to the yellow ; I tried both Automatic and Programmed...

Excellent

If you are looking for something easy to use, high quality, and wont hurt your wallet very much, I recommend this camera. Oh, BTW, from the time you press the power button till the time you can take a picture is about 2 seconds. Great for not missing a...

Pictures are very good. Video is very good. Little thing is tough. Its first outing was a concert called Rock Fest. It was smashed in my pocket, and kicked to the ground a few times. Held a charge while in constent use for about 7 hours. Got a 16 GB...

Price dropped $20 since I bought it

Small pocketable camera, but frequently out of focus photos

We had an older digital camera of the same brand that finally died. We bought this camera to replace it. I am very sorry I did not spend more money on a better camera. This one is supposed to have the IS feature to help with photos. The old A75 took...

Small, very pocketable in normal and relaxed fit jeans and slacks. Works for informal quick shots that are better than a camera phone. Cheap

Auto mode and auto focus does not always focus correctly resulting in blurry shots. The image stabilization does not seem to help photos. 12MP does not result in a better photo
