Canon IXUS 130

Canon's pocket-sized IXUS snapshot is sleek, stylish and has curves in all the right places. But has it achieved the correct balance between form and function?

Canon Ixus 130 review

An excellent point-and-shoot compact for beginners, with plenty of features and great image quality

Well-made ; Excellent screen ; Uncomplicated operation ; Excellent value

No manual mode ; Average movie mode

Canon's Ixus range has been around since the photographic dark ages, and to say each addition carries with it high expectations is quite an understatement.

Canon IXUS 130 review

Canon's IXUS 130 is a beautifully designed compact camera, but we expect better image quality at this price.

Canon Powershot SD1400 review

The PowerShot SD1400 IS is a bit of a puzzler. It's an attractive, lightweight ultracompact point-and-shoot nearly identical to 2009's SD940 IS , using the same 28mm-equivalent wide-angle lens with a 4x zoom and 2.7-inch LCD. The only major tweak is a...

Tiny, attractive design; well-priced.

No marked improvements from previous model.

The PowerShot SD1400 IS is another stylish ultracompact from Canon with features and performance that are stuck in the past.

Canon 100-400 f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM lens

The newest 100-400 f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM lens from Canon might just be the best zoom lens we have handled to date. It was certainly one that won us over at every turn.

Sharp, Easy to handhold, Well constructed, Terrific usability thanks to wide zoom ring

Expensive, f/5.6 maximum aperture may deter some

There is still nothing wrong with the original 100-400 lens, and it’s a testament to that lens’s strength that it continues to perform as well as it does so long into its lifespan. However, the newest version is definitely superior, and makes a cogent...

Canon Ixus 130

Does the latest IXUS perform as well as it looks?

The IXUS 130 is expensive for what it is, but it's hard to beat in terms of style and size, making its price seem more reasonable. You certainly get a lot for your money

Canon - Ixus 130

Canon has two ranges of compact cameras: PowerShot and Ixus. The Ixus range contains the higher end, enthusiast models and the Ixus 130 breaks several moulds. For a start Canon claims it's the thinnest Ixus it's ...

Ixus cameras have always been aimed at the enthusiast and while the Ixus 130 offers more automation than earlier models, it's still capable of responding to somebody who likes to make manual settings. It'll slip into most pockets and while it isn't...

Canon IXUS 220 HS86/100

Expert review by : Elias Plastiras (goodgearguide.com.au)

Canon IXUS 130 IS digital camera

A petite Canon digital camera with great image quality

Excellent clarity, captures colours vividly, f/2.8 aperture, reasonably good performance in dim lighting conditions

Build quality could be better, buttons are hard to press, top of case creaks, battery compartment can be hard to open, poor zoom control

Canon's IXUS 130 IS is small enough to reside in your pocket so that you can take it anywhere -- but the best part is that it's capable of capturing beautifully clear and vibrant images. It's not a perfect camera though: its buttons can be hard to...

Canon PowerShot Elph 130 IS

The Canon PowerShot Elph 130 IS features Wi-Fi and an 8x zoom lens, but for a few dollars more you can get a much better compact camera.

8x zoom lens. Sharp images. Wi-Fi.

Slow performance. Noisy images at moderate ISO settings. Video limited to 720p.

Performance and Conclusions The Elph 130 IS isn't the speediest camera on the block. It requires 1.9 seconds to start and capture a photo, and languishes for a full 2.3 seconds between shots. The shutter lag is 0.2-second, which is acceptably speedy....
