Canon PowerShot SX400 IS

The Canon PowerShot SX400 IS is a no-frills camera with a 30x lens, but there are better cameras out there for the same price.

30x zoom range. Sharp lens. Optical stabilization.

Low-res LCD. No Wi-Fi. Noisy images. HD video limited to 720p.

The budget-friendly 30x zoom returns to Canon's PowerShot lineup minus some features, but with a newer image processor.

Canon SX400 IS Review

If you're looking for an affordable, long-zoom camera from Canon and you don't want last year's camera, you've got two choices as of this writing. The 16-megapixel Canon SX400 and SX520 were both announced in late-July 2014, and of the pair, the SX400...

Available from August 2014 in black or red, the Canon SX400 is priced at US$250. Available since September 2013, the Canon SX510 has the same price, but ships only in black -- and for the time being at least, it's still listed as a current model. If...

Canon PowerShot SX400IS

A bridge camera at a modest price with extreme zoom capability that shoots well but has basic features — Ashok Pandey Canon brings a new bridge camera in its popular PowerShot line to attract consumers looking for a camera that can

30x optical zoom, decent image quality, DSLR style body, lightweight

Has only auto mode, lacks at Wi-Fi and connectivity features, only HD videos can be shot

The SX400 IS lacks in video resolution, Wi-Fi, and has only auto mode but considering the price and its super zoom capability it could be the right choice for people looking for a camera that produces detailed images in day and night. And if you can...

Canon PowerShot SX400 IS digital camera review

If you're looking for a camera that takes better pictures than your smartphone but without the bulk of an SLR then the Canon PowerShot SX400 IS fits the bill.

The Canon PowerShot SX400 IS is a handy camera that produces great results and that’s really easy to use.

Canon PowerShot SX400 IS Camera Review- Explicit Zooming

Here a budget point and shoot camera by Canon that scores on its clear cut zooming and 16-megapixel optical sensor.

• Great Zoom ; • Decent Battery life ; • Good image stabilisation

• Bulky design ; • No touchscreen ; • Mode dial absent

Before I pass on my judgement on whether to buy this camera or not, here’s a little thing I’d like to talk about. For starters, the PowerShot SX400 camera is not impeccable at all, especially when we have such good point and shoot camera available in...

Canon SX400 IS

The Canon PowerShot SX400 IS is a compact bridge super-zoom with a 30x optical range, 16 Megapixel CCD sensor and a 3 inch fixed LCD screen. It's a new model that sits below the SX520 HS in Canon's 2014 super-zoom line-up. The SX520 HS offers a longer...

30x optical stabilised zoom ; Quick startup ; Close focus macro down to 0cm ; Compact, lightweight, and stylish

No Creative Shot mode ; Slow 0.8fps continuous shooting ; No 1080p full HD video ; No Hybrid auto or slomo video modes ; Poor battery life ; No Wifi

The Canon PowerShot SX400 IS is a camera that makes a great first impression, but the more you expect of it the less impressive it becomes. Its strengths are that it's small, light and stylish, uncomplicated, inexpensive, and simple to use. If those...

Canon PowerShot SX400 IS Review

It's the zoom. That's the feature that point-and-shoot cameras have over smartphone cameras. Specifically, the optical zoom. Thin and light smartphones just don't have the build for moving glass.

Great design ; 30x optical zoom ; Decent image quality

Lacks Wi-Fi and touchscreen ; Horrible menu and settings navigation ; Low video resolution

This camera has two things going for it: its DSLR-like design 30x optical zoom. While the image quality is good, smartphone output will likely pass it soon; if it hasn't already (we still have yet to test out the iPhone 6 models or Galaxy Note 4).
