Casio Exilim EX-Z1050

Casio's new ultra-compact has been at the pies.

The Casio Exilim EX-Z1050 demonstrates that it is possible to make a good 10MP compact camera without suffering problems with excessive image noise or fringing. As well as that it is a well-made camera offering good handling, brisk performance, some...

Casio Exilim Zoom EX-Z1050 digital camera

The Casio Exilim EX-Z1050 updates the Z1000 model with a few tweaks and some new-to-Casio technology that improves an already attractive package. The aluminum-bodied newcomer comes in four colours: black, silver, gold and pink. The Casio EXILIM Zoom...

Good price, design, large colour LCD, USB2 connectivity, good image quality at lower ISOs, Auto Tracking AF

No optical viewfinder, JPEG artifacts, noise at higher ISOs

The Casio EXILIM Zoom Z1050, while still a makeover of the Z1000, offers some excellent kit that makes it a real step forward. It lacks manual controls other than exposure compensation but is, instead, replete with Best Shot modes to cover almost any...

Casio Exilim EX-Z1050 review

Casio Exilim EX-Z1050

The Casio Exilim EX-Z1050 10-megapixel camera has solid image quality, a very fast low-resolution Burst mode, and simple controls.

Terrible screen.

If it weren't for the poor LCD, the Exilim EX-Z1050 would be a pretty good camera.

Casio Exilim EX-Z1050

A decent addition to the Exilim range in spite of the flaws

The EX-Z1050 is not without its faults, but for the price you can't help but see this camera through rose-tinted spectacles

Casio Exilim EX-Z1050

The Casio Exilim EX-Z1050 Digital Camera is one of the budget Casio Digital cameras and provides a 10 megapixel sensor, a 3x optical zoom lens, a 2.6 inch screen, and high ISO settings.

Excellent value for money ; Very easy to use ; Large screen shows the resulting photos with good clarity ; Fast and responsive ; LOADS of scene positions to help ordinary people take better photos ; Excellent quality images - very good colour ; Very...

The Casio Exilim EX-Z1050 is a great point and shoot camera, it fits easily into your pocket and is surprisingly small despite not necessarily being counted as an "ultra-compact" (it may as well be in my opinion). It was also fun to use and has an...

Casio EXILIM EX-Z1050

With a natty, lilac, metallic finish and an attractive 10Mp resolution, the latest compact from Casio is fluttering its eyelashes at Duncan Evans.

High, 10Mp resolution; Excellent build quality; Very easy to use; Better ISO range than the Z1200; Large LCD screen; Very detailed ISO80

Focus tracking wanders

The Z1050 is very similar in terms of systems to the 12Mp Z1200, but the slightly lower resolution does mean that it can get away with a higher, and more useful, ISO800 mode. It doesn't have the same PASM program modes, being aimed much more at the...

Casio Exilim EX-Z1050

The Casio Exilim EX-Z1050 is a pretty solid offering. This is a ten megapixel digital camera and will just about fit into a pocket. It scores well for ease of use and I found picture quality to be above average.

LCD screen - screen layout - indoor photos

Photos could be brighter

I liked the Casio Exilim EX-Z1050. In many ways it is a fairly typical compact digital camera. With ten megapixels there is plenty of scope for large prints or for cropping photos. The camera is easy to use and I also found it performed well in lowlight.
