Casio Exilim EX-Z200

Wide-angle and anti-shake in a stylish and tiny camera

The Casio EX-Z200 is a very much a camera of two halves, with an excellent feature set, ease of use and competitive price-tag ultimately being defeated by below-par image quality and sluggish performance.

Casio Exilim EX-Z200

The Casio Exilim EX-Z200 is a straightforward, pocket sized digital camera. It is available in black, red and silver. One of the biggest plus points is how easy it is to use. It has 10 megapixels and a 4x wide angle zoom lens.

Ease of use - widescreen movies

Photos could be sharper - build quality could go up a notch or two

The Exilim EX-Z200 is not one of my favourite pocket cameras. There are a few better ones around when it comes to picture and build quality. Taking all factors into account I think it would have to be a fair bit cheaper before I felt able to recommend it.

The back is dominated by a 2.7in wide-format screen, and you can choose to shoot in wide mode or standard 4:3. The latter is best since the wide mode actually just chops the top and bottom off a standard frame – something you could easily do yourself...

In football management terms, the Casio EX-Z200 completely lives up to the much used cliche "a game of two halves". I'm struggling to recall another recent camera that got so much right, yet also got so much wrong. In terms of handling and features,...

Casio introduced the Exilim EX-Z100 and Z200 to the US market in January of 2008. It's a pair of ultra-compact 10-megapixel cameras that come in a variety of colors. We're describing them both in the same review since the sole difference between the...
