Casio Exilim Zoom EX Z77 digital camera

The new Exilim EX Z77 sits snuggly in Casio's Exilim line up above the EX Z75 and beneath the EX Z1050 so it is in the upper echelon of the mid-range models. The £149.99 pricing makes it look attractive, as does a couple of neat new features, which...

Build and slim line design, low ISO image quality, easy to use, improved H.264 movie format, and YouTube movie mode

Hi ISO image noise, low-powered flash unit, no optical viewfinder, very limited manual control

While the Casio Exilim EX Z77 is a mid-range model, it has a few classy features that make it look attractive. Better than average image quality help too and the improved face priority AF set up is uncanny.

Casio Exilim EX-Z77 review

Casio inches its Exilim Zoom series forward with the EX-Z77, a minor upgrade to the Exilim EX-Z75 . The Z77 maintains most of its predecessor's hardware aspects, but features a new image processor and a few other new features.

Fast performance; accessible interface; handy YouTube uploader included.

Poor picture quality; grainy LCD screen.

The Casio Exilim EX-Z77 has some neat features and feels responsive, but its poor photos simply can't be overlooked.

Casio Exilim EX-Z77

This is a very thin and very capable digital camera. I am however not sure why the name makes it sound like a secret project, maybe if the name was something more friendly.

At 132grams it is light and at 9x6x1.5cm easily small enough to fit in a pocket or purse. When it's 3x optical zoom lens is fully extended it adds another 2cm to the width. This is a 7.2mega pixel offering and according to some camera manufacturers...

Matt Grayson takes a look at the Casio Exilim EX-Z77. A camera so thin it makes you want to diet.

Family first face detection; Good skin tone performance; Good continuous shooting mode, albeit at low-res

Not many ISO settings

Casio Exilim EX-Z77

The Casio Exilim EX-Z77 is one of the cheaper pocket digital cameras. It has 7 megapixels and a 3x optical zoom lens. When it comes to quality I cannot claim it is the very best, but you do need to make compromises if you are looking for a relatively...

Simplicity - simple design - LCD screen shows key menu options

Sharper images - brighter shots

"If you are looking for a cheaper pocket sized digital camera then the Casio Exilim EX-Z77 is a possibility. It is not the best on the market, but then again the price tag is not one of the highest."

Casio Exilim EX-Z77

The Casio Exilim EX-Z77 Digital Camera is one of the budget Casio Digital cameras and provides a 7 megapixel sensor, a 3x optical zoom lens, a 2.6 inch screen, YouTube video mode, and high ISO settings.

Good value for money ; Very easy to use ; Large screen shows the resulting photos with good clarity ; Fast and responsive ; LOADS of scene positions to help ordinary people take better photos ; Good image quality - good colour ; Good battery life...

The Casio Exilim EX-Z77 is a good point and shoot camera, it fits easily into your pocket and is surprisingly small despite not necessarily being counted as an "ultra-compact". It was also fun to use, has a good battery life, and produced some good...

I had high expectations for the Exilim EX-Z77, but was let down in too many ways to justify a recommendation.
