Fujifilm FinePix F770EXR

Could this be the best travel compact of 2012 so far?

Competitively priced ; Plenty of useful shooting features ; Stylish and well built ; Can record lossless Raw images as well as JPEGs ; Hi-Def and Hi-Speed movie recording abilities

No built-in digital filters ; Quick Menu' a bit limited ; Noisy at mid to high ISO settings

Fujifilm FinePix F770EXR

Fujifilm's bombardment of the travel zoom market continues with its fourth F-series release in a12-month period, the FinePix F770EXR. Even though the Fujifilm FinePix F770EXR is a more budget travel zoom camera than much of the recent competition it...

Offers lots for the money, 20x optical zoom, brighter lens at telephoto end than similar competitors, offers raw shooting

Lens flare issue is still a problem (as per F660 model), image quality a little soft, battery life isn’t great, sensor-based stabilisation should be lens-based by now, overexposure isn’t uncommon

Even though the Fujifilm FinePix F770EXR is a more budget travel zoom camera than much of the recent competition it has a load of features on offer. Really decent features too: GPS, raw shooting, EXR modes, and we could go on.

Fujifilm FinePix F770 EXR review

The stylish travel zoom that's big on features, small on price

Excellent build quality ; 20x optical zoom lens ; Raw shooting capability ; Full HD movies ; Manual controls

Noise isn't well controlled ; GPS drains the battery ; Sluggish when shooting raw

Bucking the manufacturer's recent trend for adding subtly tweaked compacts to the burgeoning travel zoom area of the camera market, Fuji has instead gone for a complete design overhaul with the FinePix F770 EXR - its latest addition to the popular...

Fujifilm FinePix F770EXR review

A 16-megapixel sensor sits inside the body, behind a lens that can shoot from a wide angle of 25mm all the way up to 500mm when you zoom in. This makes it a versatile camera that can be used for everything from portraits to scenery and even macros....

Fujifilm's FinePix F770EXR is a versatile little camera with a nice design and an ability to capture wonderfully-detailed and richly-coloured images. Its 25-500mm zoom lens, along with a small body size, make it a suitable camera to carry at all times.

The controls and video mode could be better, but superb image quality and nippy performance make it a strong contender

Fuji Finepix F770EXR

The competition between the leading cameras in this category is very tough. They all take good pictures, have similar features and are available for roughly the same price. The Fuji Finepix F770EXR stands alongside the best in the bunch and loses...

Fujifilm FinePix F770EXR camera

Fujifilm combines style, versatility and high quality picture-taking ability in the FinePix F770EXR

Great colours and contrast ; Nice design ; Versatile lens

Menu system could be a little better ; High ISO performance not great ; Video mode could be better

Fujifilm's FinePix F770EXR is a versatile little camera with a nice design and an ability to capture wonderfully-detailed and richly-coloured images. Its 25-500mm zoom lens, along with a small body size, make it a suitable camera to carry at all times.

Fujifilm FinePix F770EXR Review

The Finepix F770 EXR is a hard sell. It's equal parts fast and slow – the impressive sensor and processor mean the thing technically operates quickly, but the disappointing UI leaves you wanting more.
