Fujifilm FinePix S5700

A lot of camera for a little money

The Fujifilm S5700 is an amazing bargain. It has style, good performance, manual exposure options, excellent low-light ability and fantastic handling, and tops it off with good image quality. That you can get a camera this good for under £130 is simply...

Fujifilm Finepix S5700 review

A feature-packed big-zoom cam with a budget price tag? And a Fuji that doesn't rely on xD cards? Hmm, sounds interesting…

A whole lot of camera for very little money. Snap one up

Fujifilm FinePix S5700 review

How low can Fujifilm go with its new 10x model?

Extensive features ; Decent handling ; Attractive price

The quantity of technology Fujifilm has crammed into this sub-£150 camera is astonishing. At this price, there isn't a camera around to touch it

Fujifilm FinePix S700 D-SLR camera

Fujifilm's FinePix S700 adds an SLR-style frame to the solid functionality of an advanced point-and-shoot. The Fujifilm FinePix S700's best traits are its long battery life, manual controls, 10X optical zoom, and image stabilization - not a bad combo...

The Fujifilm FinePix S700 has great colour accuracy and is reasonably priced. We were slightly disturbed by the S700's tendency toward image distortion, however, and there's no optical viewfinder.

Fujifilm FinePix S700 (Black) review

With its attractive price--less than $250 for 7 megapixels, 38mm-380mm-equivalent 10x zoom lens, and a full set of manual and semimanual controls--the Fujifilm FinePix S700 (aka the FinePix S5700) seems quite a compelling buy for the budget-strapped...

Low-noise, higher-ISO photos; broad set of manual controls; optical zoom operates in movie mode; runs on AA batteries.

Frustrating design; sluggish performance; no optical image stabilization.

The Fujifilm FinePix S700 would be a nice budget megazoom if it weren't hampered by mediocre performance and a frustrating design.

Fujifilm FinePix S700/S5700

Very good image quality ; Excellent 10X optical zoom ; Reliable metering ; Very good auto white balance ; Accepts both xD and SD cards ; Sharp EVF and LCD

Very limited choice for compression ; No optical stabilization ; Noisy as of 400 ISO ; No dioptre correction

Fujifilm FinePix S5700

Under £200? Is this the ideal superzoom?

Feature-packed, with an excellent price tag, the S5700 delivers great value for money but is let down slightly by a few flaws in image quality

Fuji Finepix S5700

If you would like a camera with a long zoom lens, that is easy to use, but your budget doesn't stretch to the top of the range then the Fuji Finepix S5700 could be the answer. It is not the perfect camera, but it is easy to use and has a selection of...

Design and style - ease of use for a camera with these features

Purple fringing - wide angle test photo

"The Fuji Finepix S5700 is one of the cheaper super zoom digital cameras. Therefore it is understandable if picture quality wavers in places. It is one of the easier to use super zooms, despite the fact that the camera has manual exposure controls."

Fujifilm FinePix S5700

It could be argued that there's less need for bridge cameras now that digital SLRs are so reasonably priced. But when you can pick up a 7MP, 10x zoom compact for less than the price of most standalone flashguns, it's easy to see why they're still around
