Fujifilm FinePix S9500

Quite simply the best camera Cliff has ever seen - enough said!

With the S9500 Fujifilm has produced what is unquestionably the best fixed-lens camera currently available. Its SLR-like handling and performance make it a real pleasure to use, while its amazing picture quality and fantastic versatility are matched...

Fujifilm FinePix S9500 Zoom

Fujifilm's FinePix S9500 is an all-in-one digital camera with 9Mp (megapixel) resolution, a long 10.7x optical zoom lens and a wealth of creative controls. With its styling and features, Fujifilm is targeting the S9500 at anyone considering a budget...

Fujifilm's FinePix S9500 sports a decent-quality 10.7x optical zoom and delivers detailed images with low noise. It may not have the optical stabilisation of rivals, but still offers a compelling alternative to a digital SLR for people who don't need...

Fujifilm FinePix S9000

Excellent image quality.Excellent colours.28 mm equivalent wide angle.10.7X zoom.Powerful flash.High resolution EVF.Adjustable monitor.xD and CompactFlash I/II slots.Excellent ergonomic design.

Image corners less sharp than the centre with wide angle shots.Compression a touch too strong at the highest JPEG image quality. Not enough compression choices. No image stabilization system.Bundled software does not take advantage of the RAW format.

Fuji Finepix S9500

When it comes to features the Fuji Finepix S9500 is one of the most advanced compact digital cameras you are likely to find. It has a set of features that are similar to those found on a digital SLR camera.

Design and build quality ; Features ; Indoor photos ; Zoom and focus rings

Outdoor images could be a shade sharper

The Fuji Finepix S9500 is a fully featured digital camera. In terms of both looks and features it resembles an SLR camera. There is a lot to like about this camera and it sits in its own niche in the market. It is aimed at advanced photographers rather...

FinePix S9500 : Fuji FinePix S9500 zoom

I think of this as a semi professional digital camera however the price seems to put it in the amateur camp. Certainly making adjustments to zoom and focus on the lens stem is a big leap from point and shoot.

The dimensions are 12x13x9cm and the 13cm depth increases by up to 4.5cm when the 28-300mm lens is fully extended. This gives 10.7 to 1 optical zoom. In the short time I have had it I have taken the opportunity to take as many images as possible and I...

FinePix S9500 Zoom review

Fuji was one of the first manufacturers to introduce digital cameras with powerful zoom lenses. This new model meets the demand for better versatility and higher-resolution sensors.

Lots of features make this a versatile camera. A quality 10.7x optical zoom with a 28-300mm range and super-fast ISO1600 at full resolution are the main attractions

No image stabilization, and the flip-out screen looks very small. Noise levels at maximum sensitivity may not be acceptable to some

FinePix S9500 Zoom

The nine-megapixel S9500 Zoom replaces the prosumer S20 Pro at the top of the FinePix range. There isn't much difference between the two in terms of size - both cameras are bulky - but the new zoom lens makes the S9500 feel a much larger proposition.

Lots of features make this a versatile camera. A quality 10.7x optical zoom with a 28-300mm range and super-fast ISO1600 at full resolution are the main attractions.

No image stabilization, and the flip-out screen looks very small. Noise levels at maximum sensitivity may not be acceptable to some.

Overall, the S9500 offers a slick layout that any SLR user will find intuitive. But, at £500, you might be able to pick up an entry-level digital SLR at a similar price. Even so, anyone in the market for a versatile camera with a quality zoom should...

Fujifilm FinePix S9000 Review

With 10.7x optical zoom and 9MP resolution, the Fujifilm S9000 provides very good to excellent image quality, though not approaching the exceptional low noise capability of the F10. Noise is low at ISO 80, 100, 200 and 400. ISO 800 is usable, and a...

Review: Fujifilm FinePix S9500

From the rubberised grip to the manual focus and zoom rings and the dual flash connectors, the FinePix S9500 looks and feels like a digital SLR and it has all the features you'd expect from a digital SLR

The manual zoom and the manual focus ring

The tiny bundled storage card

You could get a budget SLR model for this price - especially as you'll need to budget for AA rechargeable batteries and something larger than the 16MB xD card it comes with. But the S9500 is an excellent combination of performance and features; it...

Fujifilm FinePix S9500 Zoom

Absolute image quality is not as good as you(tm)ll get from an SLR, but the lens will cover many people for every shot they(tm)ll take in a lifetime of photography. Lack of genuine shakecompensation is a disappointment but otherwise the FinePix S9500...
