GE E1410SW - digital camera review

GE's cameras are all about value, delivering some very good specs at an affordable price. That's certainly what you get with the E1410SW, a 10x zoom ultracompact camera that's loaded up with a 14-megapixel CMOS sensor and some nice shooting features at...

The GE E1410SW puts a wide-angle 10x zoom lens in an ultracompact package for an affordable price. It also has some nice extra shooting features you'd find on more expensive cameras in its class.

The E1410SW isn't great for low-light or indoor shooting. Its flash turns on automatically every time you start the camera or change shooting modes, which slows performance. Battery life is relatively short.

While not without its share of photo and performance issues, the GE E1410SW is a fine ultracompact megazoom snapshooter for those on a budget.

General Electric E1410SW

The $160 General Electric E1410SW packs an impressive 10x zoom lens and is capable of capturing some nice photos at lower ISO settings. But this unbeatable bargain comes with some compromises.

Inexpensive. Sharp 10x zoom lens. Short shutter lag. Fast burst shooting.

Very slow to start. Poor high ISO performance. Doesn't remember flash settings.

Performance and Conclusions In terms of speed, the E1410SW is a true Jekyll & Hyde story. The camera can rattle off 10 shots in a second before slowing down to a very respectable 0.44 second between photos and records only 0.1 second of shutter lag....

GE Power Series E1410SW Review

The GE E1410SW is a very powerful ultra-compact digicam. Featuring a 10x optical zoom lens, 14-Megapixel CMOS imaging sensor, powerful burst modes and full 1080p video capture, you will not find another camera with these features in this price range....

iAuto shooting mode is accurate and easy in all situations ; Dedicated Video Capture Button is always ready to record ; Panorama mode captures images for you ; Good overall image quality for a sub $200 camera ; O.I.S. is very helpful when shooting on...

Some image noise in all images ; Images look very cool (blue) on camera's LCD ; No ISO control ; Multi-Exposure seemed to lock up the camera ; Built-in mic is terrible for outdoor audio ; Unacceptable battery life ; No AV cables included

GE E1410SW

The GE E1410SW is surprisingly mediocre for its price point. We recommend looking elsewhere.

The GE E1410SW is at least a serviceable point-and-shoot, and a legitimate contender in the open marketplace.
