Kodak Easyshare V1073

10-megapixel compact with a touch-screen interface

Sharp images, touch-screen interface, good colour balance

Blotchy pictures at high ISO, minor interface issues, some processing lag at times

Kodak's Easyshare V1073 is a good all-round compact combining nice images with some nifty features and a touch-screen interface.

Kodak EasyShare V1073

Vivid colors and high-definition video capture help make up for boring design and a convoluted menu system in this EasyShare camera.

Takes very good indoor and outdoor still images. Can capture HD video (1,280-by-720 at 30 fps). Relatively low noise in high ISO shots.

Dull design. 3-inch touch screen is very dim. Not all controls are touch-screen-based. Poor battery performance. No HDMI-out for video playback.

Kodak EasyShare V1073

The V1073 is a significant improvement over Kodak's other line of ultra-compact cameras.

Kodak EasyShare V1073

Don't be fooled by its contemporary metal design: the heart of this disappointing camera is pure plastic.

Movie star looks ; Colourful snaps and movies ; Price

Terrible LCD ; Finger-twisting touch menus ; Slow performance

Like its previously-tested big brother, the 12-megapixel EasyShare V1253, this Kodak is a triumph of form over function. Sure, it looks good and the large touchscreen is a fun gimmick, but its average, over-baked images simply aren't worth the effort...

Kodak EasyShare V1073 Digital Camera Review

After testing the Kodak EasyShare V1073, three words immediately spring to mind: value for money. This compact touch-screen-operated camera priced at rrp $399 offers the user an array of features for that price: 10 megapixels, a 3 inch (7.6cm) LCD...

Kodak EasyShare V1273 Review

Kodak's visually smart, touch-interface equipped EasyShare V1273 has the looks down. Does it have the performance and image quality to match?

Award worthy styling, build quality ; Vibrant images at lower ISOs ; Shooting speed rarely a problem ; Touch interface is carefully thought out

Screen is weak and hard to see ; Power-up cycle takes forever ; Full-res ISO 3200 not very useful ; Get used to those "Insufficient Battery" warnings

If you've come to associate Kodak with the often mundane compact cameras that the company churns out on a regular basis, be prepared to be surprised: the V1273 is a high-end camera with impressive build quality and one of the most polished touch...

REVIEW—KODAK V1073 camera]

This is a 10 megapixel compact camera with a 37–111mm zoom lens, branded as Schneider Kreuznach. The lens is optically stabilised and there is the obligatory face detection. Images can be captured in the appropriate resolution and format for high...

The picture quality is typically Kodak – bright, slightly over-saturated and over-sharpened. Postcard prints made straight from the camera on the new Kodak ESP5 printer are consistently excellent. And, much to our surprise, we found that pictures taken...

There is a strange effect of noise reduction that shows up in areas of solid colour, such as blue skies. The effect appears as solid blocks of blue of a different tone. Very curious. And the LCD is totally useless as a viewfinder in sunlight. The...

The test camera came without an instruction manual but we had no trouble finding our way around the various functions – the mark of an intuitive piece of equipment. We liked the zappy, Kodak-style images and were impressed with the print quality, even...
