Kodak EasyShare V1273 review

Kodak's metal-clad compact has a touchscreen and shoots hi-def video. Is it the perfect summer snapper?

A well-built and stylish compact. Only a sluggish menu system lets it down

Kodak EasyShare V1273 digital camera

The Kodak EasyShare V1273 looks very nice and sports some clever technology that includes the meat of its sibling, the V1253 and some new twists. This means you get Face detection AF, Perfect Touch technology and Smart Capture that, similar to Pentax's...

Price, image quality at low sensitivity, lens, Smart Capture, optical image stabilisation

You cannot see the LCD in moderate lighting, noisy images at higher sensitivity, you cannot see the LCD in brighter lighting, poor AF in low light, you cannot see the darn LCD unless you're indoors or in near darkness!

Kodak’s EasyShare V1273 is a camera that’s more point and hope than point and shoot and the single most frustrating digital compact I’ve ever used. Grrrrr…

Kodak's EasyShare V1273 isn't short of impressive features, with a 12-megapixel sensor, 3in touch screen and high-definition video recording capability.

The Kodak EasyShare V1723 is a stylish and durable compact camera with a sensitive and accurate touch-screen. Kodak consistently manages to provide cameras with easily navigated menus and it's a real bonus when this is combined with the 3-inch...

Kodak EasyShare V1273

Equipped with a whopping 12 megapixels and an innovative touchscreen, Kodak's camera is so close to an award it almost hurts.

Unfortunately, the results of the test shots we took were a little disappointing ? the images looked a bit washed out and the camera could have made a better job of capturing colour. Ultimately, the Kodak simply failed to live up to its features

Kodak EasyShare V1273

Stylish 12-megapixel camera with a touch-screen interface.

Stylish matte black design, great noise control

Touch-screen interface is annoying and poorly implemented, shots not quite crisp enough for a 12-megapixel sensor, screen very poor in bright light

Kodak's EasyShare V1273 is a decent compact camera that is hampered by its poorly implemented touch-screen interface. The shots are fairly good although a tad soft, but the controls will get the best of even the most tolerant user.
