Kodak EasyShare V610

This latest model from Kodak could be the most versatile compact digital camera available.

The V610 isn’t as small as some compacts, measuring 111 x 55.5 x 23.2mm (WxHxD) and weighing 160g. That said, it does look and feel great, with solid metal construction and an attractive two tone black and silver finish. There’s a round metal lens...

Kodak EasyShare V610 digital camera

The dual lensed V610 follows on from Kodak's wide-angle lensed V570, which provided an ultra-wide-angle dual zoom optic; here the V610 provides two lenses in a single, slim line body that together provide a 38-380mm, 10x optical zoom range (and I've...

Easy to use, remarkable size for the zoom range, image quality, build

Noise at higher sensitivities, lens flare and softness evident on the longer zoom lens, camera shake can be a problem

My worries for this camera revolve around the issue of image blur from camera shake. Noise control is good but not good enough at ISO 800, which is a shame because it is the only option open to you to get faster shutter speeds at those longer focal...

With Kodak's Easyshare camera you can upload 4-megapixel images to a PC or direct to Kodak's online gallery – then download previous snaps and show them off on its huge touchscreen

A fun, innovative camera but heavy and underpowered for the price

Kodak EasyShare V610 review

A compact with a 10x zoom spread across two lenses

Attractive and well built

Lack of effective image stabilisation

A stylish and well-built 10x zoom compact, but a lack of decent image stabilisation is an issue

Kodak EasyShare V610

Although it's clearly one of the more expensive models in the intermediate category, Kodak hopes that strong zoom facilities and intriguing lens technology will give the V610 the lead over cheaper models.

Focusing is inconsistent and battery life is short. But the V610's 10x zoom, ease of use and sleek design are enough to compensate for the shortcomings.

Kodak Easyshare V610

The Kodak Easyshare V610 is a step forward in terms of technology. It is a slimline camera with a 10x zoom lens. In fact it uses two lenses to give it so much zoom power. At the time of the review this is the smallest super zoom camera on the market.

10x zoom in pocket sized camera ; Bluetooth technology ; Ease if use ; Large 2.8" LCD screen ; Perfect Touch built in technology

Some photos are over exposed ; Noise levels

"The Kodak Easyshare V610 certainly offers something different. A 10x optical zoom lens in a pocket sized camera body. At the time of writing this review it is the smallest digital camera available offering this zoom capacity. Picture quality does not...

Kodak V610 Dual Lens Review

Now, with Kodak V610's ultra-tele 380mm lens, you can get real "close and personal" while staying quite a distance away. And if your subject notices you pointing a small compact digital camera in their general direction, they might think you're too far...

Kodak V610 : Kodak EasyShare V610 dual lens digital camera

This looks a very interesting camera with 10x optical zoom, so that it is not hugely unbalanced it has two separate lenses, potentially a unique offering.

It is very slim and would easily fit in a pocket, the twin lenses are covered but the large TFT is not, so there is a possibility of damage, if the flimsy draw string bag I was sent is the only protection for the unit I see the opportunity for screen...

Review: Kodak EasyShare V610

One of smallest cameras to sport a 10x optical zoom

These days, a decent digital camera has to look as good as pictures it takes and the V610 fits the bill here.

You don't get any points for guessing what happens when you combine a 10x optical zoom with a camera that weighs a light 160g - image shake.

Kodak EasyShare V610

Kodaks innovative twin-lens, that first appeared on the V560, was a headline grabber. Now with the V610 theres still no sign of a copy from competitors. However, the image quality sometimes leaves a little to be desired, especially when compared to the...
