A relatively straightforward super zoom camera. The Kodak Easyshare Z612 is available at a reasonable price and provides an alternative to the more expensive super zoom models from the likes of Canon and Sony.

Loss of detail in light areas of photos

The Kodak Z612 is medium compact in size [though quite small for a 12x optical zoom] and will fit in your coat pocket. The best way to carry it is with the neck strap comfortably slung around your neck or shoulders.

Featuring a monster 12X optical zoom and image stabilisation, the 6MP Kodak z612 offers a lot in a small package ? but how does it perform?

Eyepiece viewfinder, image stabilisation, h-u-g-e zoom, great image quality and full manual controls as well as a sensible set of scene modes.

Body is rather cramped, some controls are illogical, focussing can take some getting used to, defocused areas of pictures can look smeared.

I really thought I was going to hate this camera. It is small and plasticky and a lot of the controls can be quite fiddly. I forgave it a lot of this when I saw the pictures. The camera delivers some really nice images and the zoom has a fantastic...
