Yes, this camera is cheap and offers a massive zoom, but there are other models out there for even less, which will perform better

Kodak Easyshare Z8612 IS

The Kodak Easyshare Z8612 IS is a super zoom digital camera. It has manual exposure controls and image stabilisation. It is also smaller than most super zoom digital cameras. I found the camera straightforward considering the features it has.

Small for a super zoom camera - easier to use than most similar models

Build quality does not match some of the more sturdy super cameras - picture quality

Although this is one of the cheaper and easier super zoom models picture quality falls short. I struggled in most areas and there are many better super zoom cameras for you to consider.

Big zoom, optical image stabilisation, retro design

Chromatic aberration issues, colours inaccurate, sluggish at times

Kodak's EasyShare Z8612 IS has a few things going for it, including a large zoom that is backed up by optical image stabilisation. However, its images exhibit a fair bit of fringing and it can at times be quite slow.

The Kodak EasyShare Z8612 IS has trimmed off every gram of fat, but the 12x zoom lens overbalances the camera. It oozes understated élan and even has some clever features, but the performance isn't quite there.
