Kodak EasyShare Z980 review

Our first thought on seeing the Kodak EasyShare Z980: "Yikes, this is bulky." When we loaded the four AA-type rechargeable batteries, we felt the same apprehension about the weight. But once we started using the camera, we came to appreciate the...

If you don't mind the additional weight and size, and you can overlook the slight shortcomings in imaging, the Kodak EasyShare Z980 is a solid buy. Its speed makes it a winner of a camera, even if Kodak isn't as sexy as other brands.

Kodak EasyShare Z980 camera review

As manufacturers produce more megazoom cameras with similarly astounding capabilities (the 26mm-to-624mm-equivalent lens that's now de rigueur comes to mind), pinpointing the features that make a camera unique becomes more difficult. For the Kodak...

Kodak EasyShare Z980

Long and wide is the order of the day here, with a 24x zoom and a 26mm equivalent wide angle

Kodak is certainly offering a lot of tech for your cash, but there are flaws. Hopefully, this will be rectified with the next incarnation

Kodak Easy Share Z980

Kodak sells a lot of cameras and I get asked why do I not review more of them? Well here is one I was recently sent that has amazing zoom capabilities and it looks like a quality unit around the size of a DSLR.

This is the Kodak Z980 camera and it measures 12x8.5x10.5cm, the last figure the width can vary substantially when in use as the zoom lens moves out between 2 and 6cm when the camera is switched on. It runs on four rechargeable ‘AA’ batteries and they...

Kodak Easyshare Z980

The Kodak Easyshare Z980 is an advanced ultra zoom camera with a 12 megapixel sensor, a wide angle 24x optical zoom lens with image stabilisation, face detection, and a large 3inch screen.

Very easy to use ; Good build quality ; Good image quality - very bright colour ; Wide angle 24x optical zoom lens with optical image stabilisation ; Good 3" screen ; Excellent 1cm macro mode ; Focus assist lamp ; Good video mode (HD 16:9 aspect ratio,...

The Kodak Easyshare Z980 has quite a few quirks and peculiarities, for example, it provides full manual controls, plus RAW support, but no manual white balance! The video mode is great on paper letting you use the optical zoom and record in 720p HD,...

Kodak - EasyShare Z980

As with most digital products, Kodak's Z-series of budget super-zoom cameras has gone through considerable improvements in a short period of time. If you think back to the highly regarded, glossy silver Z650 of three years ...

For a surprisingly lightweight ‘bridge' camera, Kodak's new headlining Z980 has strikingly easy controls, a terrific new 24x optical zoom and a helpful second shutter system for use with portrait photography. It's also worth shopping around when...
